Anyway, give it some time and lets see.
well from reading what u showed me and looking up stuff, it appears that they can reseat. tonight i stuck some ring/compression/engine/stop smoke repair in with the oil and let it run for 15 min. ill do that again tomorrow and just take it easy on a short drive. im hoping that might make a difference

motor blown 100 miles after tune. smoked on the way back. thought it was the turbo and never thought maybe the engine and didnt wanna blame the tune. 2 turbos later and still smoking and its the rings. compression is 120 30 40 50. my car was dynoed to 7krpms and the tune stopped that day bc they thought i had a blown head gasket. a few drops of coolant on the ground from the non existant catch can led them to think that. my car was fine before the tune and didnt smoke. and once again i stated on the waiver that my redline was at 6k. negligence
putting a stock block in and selling the car at 7 pounds
i have an extra header if someone needs it.

crappy rings.. could of been installed improperly.. motor probably needed to be honed before droppin gin the new pistons ... alot of varriables in that... but if it is just piston rings gone bad... deck hone and vac(120?).. new rings(less then 100)... and a proper install..

low/no compression doesnt always mean piston rings either.. could be head.. did u check ur timing.. if its off by even just a tooth, a 7k+ rev could cause u to bend a few valves.. would also explain the compression.. in that case.. Even easier fix.

Say it ain't so Zulu, you're throwing the towel in?

If you toss the engine then, I would be interested in it for my own purposes. Have to have it gone over I think, but would be interested since it's got built parts already on it....so long as anything isn't bent in there.

Yea I'll get it checked. Still runs fine but smokes to hell. Obv not being driven Again but it will be stripped. Je pistons. Crower rods, rpw cam. Arp stuff. Hopefully rings are easy enough to do. I also got the 650s. I need 440s.

it was good seeing your project going so far, I remember our discussion about cars and stuff man and I don't blame you. Once I pay off the cobra I wll be trading it for an evo and get back into tuning. Im still going to buy my old car back for the hell of it and work on it for a fun car.

I might be interested in your header but then again I don't know when im buying the car back. Good luck to you bro hopefully you get your dream car soon.

stay in touch

detonation like crazy, holes and chips on the tops but no cracks or lines on the cylinder walls. photos to confirm crower rods and i couldnt get a pic inside under the piston but they say JE. Arp head studs, and the cam. i can throw in diff head bc this one has chips in it too. what can i do with this motor ppl. needs machine and pistons and rings. not that bad for a built block. sell cheap plus shipping

atleast theres no holes all the way through the piston.. But umm.. pistons technically still doent explain the oil issue.

id sell the cam and rods... about all u can do..

I'm pretty sure the oil is stuck in the turbo from the enourmous blow by and it can't drain, I poured out so much oil from the lower intercooler coupling. Like so much lol

So, the rods are nice and solid still then? not like, I don't know...what can happen, they either bend or they don't right? They wouldn't be weakened or something would they?

Anyway, if you're selling the rods/camshaft(rpm stage 2 right?)/headstuds, what are you asking for them. you got thicker springs too didn't you?

Also...I wonder about all that nastiness on the pistons, do you think the tune was too aggressive and the knock sensor wasn't keeping it in check? Too lean/hot EGT?

the rods u should check with a micromiter to insure good surfaces and equal lengths.. they should be just fine... the crank should bend before those rods
