coming from having an Si. if you have a decent amount of bolt ons ive seen some push as high as 215 at the wheels that and its 9k redline and being lighter it wouldnt surprise me if it could beat an evo x. i've heard of an RSX-S beating an evo and that and the Si have the same motor.

IS350s are heavy but are still quick cars

lol wtf are you talking about you must not know anything about the potential and motor of that car

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqDzv50jCqw

thats a bolt on RSX-S vs the evo IX.

self explanatory. if you really think that a RSX/Si wouldnt win in a normal evo x situation (assuming a roll) then you need to do some research instead of arguing about what makes sense in your head.

well he said he can even school an is350, and you must not look into any cars other than lancers. those K motors respond tremendously to bolt ons ive seen 2 RSX-S and one Si both bolt on take a stock evo x. and im sure this guy isnt faster than an evo x.
No, I said that I would school you. So what if you have a IS350.... Doesn't mean you know how to drive it

I have seen your precious SIs run 16-17 at tracks. It all depends on who is driving.

And since you are all over Honda Si nuts, why didn't you buy one???

I do have to say the Si's are much quicker than our lancers. The k20 is the top FF i4 out there. The car also has a closer gear ratio as well as a 6spd. My buddy's rsx is currently pushing 360whp and he hasn't even built the motor yet. People can make fun of honda's all they want in here but we can't compete with the k20 series. Just cuz you smoke a s****y driver doesn't mean you destroyed that car. That's like racing a evo and the driver missed 2nd gear and you got the jump on him. Than you come on here saying, I beat a stock evo!!! all you're doing is making yourself fair game for a car group that was actually made for performance.

There's no reason to hate someone for being an enthusiast, If I could go back I would have test drove an SI (used to be a honda hater) before I bought my GTS. As much as I love this car, the stock engine won't be able to exceed 300whp and the K20's have been known to reach over 500whp. Don't become fan boys, Be a car enthusiast. Your heart can be with your manufacturer but don't be disrespectful to others.

Congrats on the turbo, just don't get ahead of yourself with these races.
Also, take it to the track and run against the cars there, most of those drivers will know how to drive their car.

^^^^well said homie There are a lot of haters, but there's a big difference between the haters and enthusiasts-that's maturity.

1st, I am an enthusiast. More so than a lot of people. I prefer to "build" my cars, not buy pre-fast cars cough*evo*cough. I could have bought a faster car but I really appreciated the platform the GTS offered. My previous car was a Ford ZX2 S/R for goodness sakes!!! I had about $12,000 invested in it with mods alone.

2nd, I do race at the track. Usually you see the same cars and same people running the same times over and over and over. Rarely ever do you see a street legal Si sedan with full interior and stock run better than 16.5 - 17.5.

And if I ran an Evo and beat an Evo due to the driver missing second, so what. Doesn't mean I didn't beat it. Does it mean that I can beat every Evo??? No, I am not that full of my self or that stupid. If you look back at my post I stated that I beat "a" IS300. I never stated that I can beat all IS300s. Now if there are young kids in here that read more into than what is said, I have no control over that.

Looking at all the info for a 2008 Civic Si Sedan its not all that fast. You have to compare sedan to sedan.

Si:
$21,000 new
197 hp at crack @7800 rpm
Calculated drivetrain lose (15% - 20%) = 167.45 to 157.60 at wheels
Displacement - 1998/122
Bore/Stroke - 3.39 x 3.39
Comp. Ratio - 11.0:1
Curb Weight - 2954
Avg 1/4 mile time - 15.5
Headroom - 38.1 front 36.7 rear
Legroom - 42.2 front 34.6 rear

Now look at my Lancer:
$16,500 new / With turbo $20,500
Stock - 152 hp @ 6000 rpm Turboed - 240 (estimated) at crank
Calculate drivetrain lose (15% - 20%)= 129.2 to 121.6 stock and 204 to 192 turboed
RRM is in the area of 205 - 210 to the wheels
Displacement - 1998/122
Bore/Stroke - 3.40 x 3.40
Comp. Ratio - 10.0:1
Curb Weight - 3032
Avg 1/4 mile time - 16.0 stock / ??? turboed
Headroom - 39.6 front 36.9 rear
Legroom - 42.2 front 36.1 rear

Whats my point??? Point being I still got my car cheaper with a turbo to start and room to grow, offers more room, probably runs close the same times or better. Honestly, I think I would do ok against a stock Si.

But on the flip side, the market for Hondas is HUGE so products are cheaper. The Honda owner could take $1000 in engine mods (H/I/E/Ecu flash) and KILL me. Where as a $1000 in mods for my car won't go that far.

Well said, and honestly who can say they have a TURBO LANCER 2008 ?

anyone can roll up to the dealer and buy a civic si, now with the prices of used 2008 lancer you can pick up a manual 2008 lancer es de whatever for around 9000 dollars, add the turbo kit to it and you still got plenty of $ left over to put into it.

and if the SI was boosted also?
Im not sure about the sedan, but I know the coupe comes with LSD too and it is lighter, of course.

overall the K-series motor is better. Our motors suck

Yes, but what the Si owner spends in boosting I can spend on the Works 2.3 stroked engine with stronger internals and turn the boost up too.

I don't feel that the K series is better yet. The 4b11 has only been out for a short while. Who knows what the potential can be???? You can't compare it to the old 4g motors because its totally different.

Don't get me wrong, I am very impressed with what those guys are doing with Honda motors. But I like to be different and not be able to find car parts for my car at Wal Mart or Pep Boys like Civic owners.
