Installing larger injectors, a larger fuel pump and flashing your ECU is one way to provide fuel needs. A 5th injector setup is another. Some people like the appeal of the 5th injector setup because it allows for a stock-like idle with added fuel being injected under higher load. It is a good option when you are running low boost and don't necessary need the output of the 440's. You can also upgrade the 5th injector to whatever flow rate required based on the horsepower you are making or will be making.

How exactly would I tune the 5th injector? I will have a piggy for it that I believe I splice into the ecu. My concern is egt. How will I know I am getting enough fuel flow to keep them down so I don't melt anything? If you install injectors an stuff you can flash the ecu. Can u dyno and flash the piggy for the 5th injector?

No. Do you mean calling them and asking about tunning the 5th injector?

the 5th injector is tuned soley thru the box that controls it. if yur worried about blowin stuff make sure you get a wideband a/f gauge. i recommend the zietronix one cuz it does a/f, boost. egt, and a few other ones all in the same thing. so technically you get like 4 gauges for the price of one. when i had my 5ht injector setup after tuning it i was always about 11.5 on a/f when in boost at 7psi. always datalogged it and checked for knock and there was none there. when i switched to the 440's i had knock but i got that tuned out so im good now till i get the evo ecu and maf i just bought this week.

to tune it all you need is a db9 serial to usb adapter (you can get them at most electronic and computer places for like 5-10 bux or so) and a laptop with a program to tune it. then its just a matter of datalogging and readjusting for your conditions.

i feel something like that is not necessary for our cars. there are numerous turboed lancers running without it.

When upgrading my fuel pump to a walbro 255lph do I need an assembly kit? I heard it fits in the stock hanger. Also the speedcorps.com website about custom 16g turbo is this accurate for my 04 lancer?is there any special mods that need to be done because I have a returnless fuel system or anything I should be aware of?

i go by what ///rrm has on their site. they are one of the few companies that make an entire "bolt on" turbo kit for our cars. the full turbo kit they sell is for 02-06 lancer so i dont see an issue. and as far as i remember th pump should just drop right in but if yur doing that make sure you get a new fuel filter sock as well.
