Supercharge or Turbo
The reason I say don't use Topfuel as an example for SC's topend capability, because those mechanics have those huge block w/ special fuel blend that none of us can really duplicate.
The same for early F1 using TC'ers that can run rpm over 10K.
"In short the net gain is better on a smaller engine to use a turbo, and
the superchargers are cheaper and more bang for buck on V6's and up."
That was my point.

Adding both a turbo and supercharger would give you the best of both worlds. A supercharger works better at lower rpm's to provide boost but eventually robs engine power as speed increases because it is belt driven, thats when you switch to the turbo, you are already cruising, spinning that turbo fast to supply boost without any lag. It would be a steady stream of boost throughout the entire rpm range!

We do not make a supercharger for that application. Sorry I could not be of
further assistance.

Would it be possible to see an application from JR for the '02 Mitsubishi
Lancer? As you may know, the Lancer is underpowered and there is a
burgeoning aftermarket for the car. However, there is no upgrade of true substance like a turbo or supercharger as of yet. From a company like JR with as good as a reputation as it has in the tuning field, support for the Lancer would be greatly received should the company produce a supercharger.
Ok, so the guy wasn't much help so I emplore anyone with a free minute or two and try and get at least a genuine yes, no, or even a we'll think about it.
Yes u can make a Lysholm supercharger very efficient but dont think that there arent any turbos that are efficient either. How about a VTN turbo. That moves the fins on the turbo so in low revs u get little lag and it gradually moves so when ur in high revs u get high boost. But its only my opinion.
tubo is the way no bout adout it because its free horsepower your not drawing anything away from the engine plus 4c engines have high end performanc they always have so you have to build on its strong points because you'll never get great low end power never ever ever because their engine strokes are short and their cams are set up for top end so...
turbo represent!
turbo represent!
Im reading these hilarious posts about doing both its not posible and if so why why the hell would you want both hahaha
super charger gives you an extremly even power band so even that it improves with the speed of your engine BECAUSE IT MOVES AT THE SPEED OF YOUR ENGINE hahaha why put a turbo and a super charger together makes no friggen sense Im gunna go with the guy that says that they blow up because ......... damn I I just dont know what to say laf laf laf because hell if you got that much air going into your engine how the heck are you gunna get enough fuel to mix with all that stinken air. The car will detonate so bad if you even get it to start the friggen piston nock will be soooo bad it'll just hell I dont even know cause a nuclear reaction or sumtin blowup the world muahaha whomever thinks they are the **** and says that you should put both on there should be shot thats all I have to say peace out!

Do some research before you post. It is possible and has been on production cars, like the lancia delta s4. A turbo is not free horsepower either, think of the engine as a giant airpump that it is and you'll figure it out if you're smart.

omfg the loss of power due to a turbo is no more than 5 or 6 hp get me real plus all you have to do is get a high flow muffler to decrease back pressure some of you guys read too many magazines about these weird cockamamy things like superturbo charged cars and such... line there car up to a twin turbo or a blown v8 they'd get imbarrased c'mon I've been a mechanic for 20 yrs and Ive never heard such funny crap ha ha
I would have to say Ive done my share of researching in my day and have installed sooo so so many superchargers and turbos and repared and replaced and rebuilt them for so long my god I really dont care though this post is hilarious the whole thing I want to get at is why get a supercharger to boost just your low end performance and then switch to a turbo is this on a 4c because if it is why waste the thousands of dollars when you could modify the whole damn car and throw a v12 twin turbo engine running at like 2000 hp or sumtin wild you see where my logic is surely you can
Read up on the Lancia Delta Integrale. You may have done a lot of research, but it can't hurt to do more. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss. As far as I know the Integrale's the only car banned from WRC competition (in large part) for being too powerful for drivers to control under racing conditions. I know that's not the whole story though. Practical? No. Powerful? Absolutely.
