the car in the title box (can't remember what it's called... 240hp 4wd) looks pretty decent and should be a nice car. if i haven't gotten my hands on an evo i'd seriously consider that one
i'll read up on it and re-post if i feel like it

Mmm...the R32. Such a sexy beast. We had a thread a while ago about it.

No. Apparently RIPP was producing one but I'm not entirely sure. Run a search for 'em. They put out a very nice unit for the 6G72 though...yum.

all you guys saying turbo is better or super is better or twincharger is better are also missing the point that one might be better for one thing, but another is better for something else, drag racing isn't the only thing you can do in a street car, windy roads are alot better in my opinion, not knocking drag racing, just think its a little stupid, basicly who's got a better power to weight ratio and knows how to launch is all drag racing is

I agree with you. But just for the record, turbo.

In the case of the Lancer I think trubo hands down. We have a decent amount of low end torque available for an l4 and a relatively even powerband. It seems that turbos are a lot more beneficial for us. Besides, how often do you drive in the low RPM (sub 3k let's just say) region before a turbo would spool?

It seems there are a few misconceptions we need to clear up in terms of HP Vs thermodynamics.

Here is a link to our Frequently asked questions. In it you'll find answers to a lot of the IN's and out of turbo charging Vs supercharging. It will explain how Thermodynamics effect engines that were not s designed for turbo charging. It will also explain how SC will run safer and make more power than TC.

http://www.rippmods.com/generalPages...Id=4&pageId=51

Our SC set up will only rob 7-11HP to give back 100+HP, and builds power right thru the middle of the power band.

Roots type SC will not be as effective as the Cintrifical, SC. THE Cin, SC builds power just like a turbo but without all the power robbing heat . In doing so it also needs less intercooling so you can run up to 9psi without the need for an IC as you cylinder temps won't be sky high. As well as less fuel.

There are many other reasons why SC is a more effective way of making power. It all depends if your interested. We have found a ton of power in the 6CYL Mitsu cars SC while all the turbo cars are having run trouble.

We just added an SC thread in another part of the Forum, if you'd like we can further discuss this there.

I believe SC works the best w/ V8 and higher.

Well said.. but you could get some nice power out of a V6 witha SC...

Well Supercharger and Turbo are totally different things... one produces highend power and the other low end power...

Supercharger is always running always workin the motor I belive... where Turbo just kicks in once it's hit a certain speed to gain more boost or somthing like that... doubt I helped but hopefully I did... psst... go with a turbo considering that I havent seen any sc's for the lancers

why is it that turbocharging works better or "more efficiently" on an engine w/ straight cylinders more than on V's?

With V engines you twin turbo charge for best results.

ok i was wondering how like a lot of v engines that are turbo are twin turbo, are most of those 2 of the same turbo, like one for each bank of cylinders or are they a sequential turbo or is it kindof a mixed amount of both, like the 3000gt vr4, 300zxt, can't think of any others right now, thanks

I'm a fan of supercharging, even 4cylinder engines. I love torque and couldn't usually give a damn about horsepower. Granted, they are obviously related numbers in the sense that there exist few engines capable of 1000HP and 2lb-ft of torque or vise-verse, but one reason I like the Lancer is the better torque numbers and anything I can do to improve that will be preferable to me.

How much torque you get from a turbo charger has to do with how the intake and exhaust are designed. You can get just as much torque with a turbo as a supercharger, just not as low in rpms. We're talking peak boost and torque around 2500 rpms with a turbo.
