Supercharge or Turbo
And you can still have problems like predetonation, running lean and overboosting. It's still a forced induction system and as such can run into the same problems as turbocharging. As for Team's question, that is entirely to subjective to be quantified without actually running the two systems side by side. All about power delivery and state of tune (boost pressures, fuel tuning, etc).

If you think driving skill is BS then you've got a lot to learn about driving. Read between the lines. Statements like that mean that the power outputs are comparable and that the differences have less to do with the setups than the drivers.
I was at the Woodbridge Mall meet last Saturday and the owner of RIPP Mods was there with 5 or 6 of his Supercharged projects. He has also done one Lancer. Looks great and from what the people say it's amazing. Always something to keep in mind. Plus - NO LAG!!
Small turbo = no lag. I spool at 2,500-2,750 with an exhaust leak at the manifold and a T3 turbo (the third largest turbo I'm aware of on these forums). Positive boost as early as 3,000.
As long as you don't go with a retardedly big turbine, you shouldn't have any problems.
It's nice being able to drive out of boost when the weather is less than ideal as well.
And yes, Ross' SC setups look very impressive. I didn't get to take a spin in one yet, but the one I saw seemed very driveable and the engine work looked meticulate.

i didnt mean it like driver doesnt matter....it was meant to be that if both drivershad the same techniques and were both equally good and everything was left up the car...not the driver...oh i know that racing depends on driver/ technique...otherwise how would an evo lose to an A4?
There are far to many variables for a respectable answer. I am halfway done with paying off my SC and will go to a local 1/4 mile track or road course with someone that has a turbo setup. No, I'm not being cocky, But I would like to see where we are with certain kits and custom setups.

Yes, you can, but it won't have the same sound. Close, but not the same. It doesn't really help that much, but it will increase the life of the SC.
