4g64 Turbo Lancer (first?)
4g64 Turbo Lancer (first?)
Okay so you guys probably know that i swapped the 4g64 into my lancer a couple of months ago, well im happy to announce that i have started purchasing parts for my turbo build
So far i have the following parts,
EVO VIII UICP and LICP
EVO VIII intake and MAF
EVO VIII fuel pump, which i may end up swapping out for an evo X pump. since i hear the VII pump doesnt work.
EVO 16g with 10.5 hotside, stock BOV, Wastegate, and Water lines.
EVO VIII manifold, Ported.
Ill post some pics up tomorrow, im hoping to run 10-12 psi and get about 200-230 atw with this setup, im a little worried about clearance issues with the manifold since my RPW header doesnt leave much room as is..
Im going to be purchasing in the next month or so,
AEM UEGO,
OIL sandwich plate,
EVO oil pan,
WRX Injectors, Or i might use the stock dsm injectors i have in the garage.
EVO VIII intercooler,
RRM High Flow cat. OR Testpipe.
EVO VIII downpipe, OR custom downpipe, depending on how well it clears the ac compresor
Manifold Spacer From RRE
Oil Feed and Return lines from Slowboy Racing.
Let me know if you guys have any tips or if i left something out. Im excited to be the first 4g64T in a lancer.

right now i have one stock eclipse fan and a 10'' pusher, but you should see how close it is to the radiator with just my RPW header AND no fan, it sits pretty close. maybe, 3-4 inches max of clearance. AND ill have to use a manifold spacer to clear the starter.
you can use 2 fans instead as pushers so you dont risk melting one of your fans inside the bay, how much did it cost you for that 4G64 swap and was it pretty much a bolt on, or what modifications did you do? and where are the pics lol
hahaha thanks man
ive been busy with my friends integra. Hes putting an Si trans onto his ls block. damn Honduhs lol..
Ill post pics tomorrow for sure, im probably just going to use th dsm injectors i have. I came across a 4g64 for 100 bucks that jumped timing so im debating picking it up and just rebuilding it, maybe putting the evo head on, and then boosting it and dropping it into my lancer.. or just picking it up and doing an oem rebuild and dropping it in. the 4g64 stock internals can hold up to 15psi with ease. so idk.. what do u guys think. If rebuilidng the oem head costs more than 600-700 bucks i can get a used evo head for the same price.

Rebuilding the 4g64 is not cheap. And takes allot of time and patience, not to mention money, and lots of it. If your going to do it don't rush it. But in my opinion just turbo what ya got and leave some rubber marks on every street you drive. LOL
Alright so i decided to go a different route with this, i started to research parts for a rebuild and found that its going to cost me at least $1500. Since i already have the turbo, manifold, and piping, i figure i can find a 4g63 for around the same price, maybe a little more, which would be better because of the DOHC and the fact that it is stock and unopened. So im going to find a low mileage 4g63 and just swap it in. I know i can use the 4g64 transmission and since the differential is swapped already i can use my stock axles, and just reflash my ecu with a stock evo rom. Im hoping it will run like a stock evo, except fwd a few hundred pounds lighter.
