Lol, 1: you will NEVER "call it done for life", I know this for a fact, you can and will always want a little more.

and B: I think as far as HP, with forged pistons and rods you ought to be able to make more power than you can put to the ground without LSD, and you might be able to put down enough that your clutch would certainly need to be replaced, and you can put down enough so that your head won't flow enough to allow anymore, and maybe so much that you'll have a hard time finding injectors to keep up...possibly even a tough time with the fuel pump can't keep up (like demon)....I'm not really sure what I'm saying here, but I bet you can make 400 if you really work at it. I miss Demon, I want to know how his build is going.

I crunched some numbers this evening, and there is no way I can afford even to just pay for the parts...much less assembly, I think Steven has the green light on it. After christmas, I might be able to get the cash together, but it would take me 2 months or so....sucks to be me, but at least I'm boosted or now.

well either 2 things must happen before I think about buying the bottom end which I will put some numbers down as well.

1.) trying to sell the car to help mom and dad out there still behind a grand or so
2.) or if my dad gets his money soon then I will be able to buy the bottom end.

how much you wanting the bottom for?

** just forgot I still need to buy a new turbo as well...

make some extra money on the weekends or something rather than sell the car. Do some drywall or something off someone asking for help on craigslist, or network someone's house or something. Make it work bro! lol, I'd hate to see you lose the car, but if you need a buick I still have one for sale!!!

I bet for the bottom end he's thinking like....500 for pistons, 500 for rods, 200 for the accompanying bearings and what not, and then you have to factor in install time...but I really have no idea.

I've now hit like....3psi of boost in my car. Did a fair amount of logging, adjusting, logging, and I feel like I'm going to be able to WOT within a week or 2, just being overly safe I guess. Once I get that going, a nice solid WOT at whatever my lowest possible psi is....I will probably know how much I'm willing to spend on a built bottom end (that is what you're selling right? this threads title and working like a dog the past few days has me all loopy) But yeah, I mean it's starting to sound like something I shouldn't pass up, since it's my goal to eventually move to forged internals and boost something fierce in the upper teens. Still, the noise you had, it was valvetrain stuff? you didn't spin a rod or main bearing or anything like that ya? I don't mind doing some clean up work if like you say the price is right, just getting all the info you know. Lol, I could call it my christmas present....yeah right, the wife wouldn't go for that at all.

I would look into a higher compression block and on the fuel system it wouldnt be to hard at all . Nothing dual walbro's with 2200 injectors couldn't handle .

I agree here with Anderson's statment Steven. I started doing my side mechanics gig a few years back when my work was really raking me over the coals and I needed extra income. Nowadays I have stable income and still do the side job (although not as persistently ) just for extra "play" cash. No way would I ever be able to turbo my car with my main income, only because I could never word it good enough to pass it by the wife .

haha I know I want to keep the car here but where I live this place is developing really quick and its hard to find a side job. The only way those will come up is if the city I live in is not as developed. For some reason my dad has been asking me the past 2 days steven I appreciate you selling your car to help us out, im not asking you to do this but whatever your doing is really helping out and I will make sure i help you out in a month or two...

I think he's got something planned for me if I sell the car or not but I thought that was wierd how he brought that up

the noise is valves, i will know for sure bc im starting the swap today, 5 mechanics say bent valve, turbo trix says bent valve due to the denso irridiums?? they having problems with those, other mechanics say motor itself sounds like its running normal, drives normal, though i drove it once bc i didnt want to wreck nething with that sound, my head was messed up to begin with i found out too which was not cool, it is a high compression motor, no smoke blowing out as u can see from the recent running video....video proof is all i need to show u but yea im hopefully removing the trans today so i can start the swap, its awefully cold here right now!!!

What compression was it?

and as for running the turbo by the wife, I believe when she asked me what I was doing in the garage all weekend, I said "fixing an oil leak, as well as an exhaust leak". Which was true....."oh, and adding 50hp"
