upgrade axles?
upgrade axles?
Hey guys quick question
Zulu mentioned something about our axles can snap at a certain psi point due to torque. I was kinda nervous because if I run at 17 psi + will my axles eventually snap or should I worry?
my goal is to run 20 psi which should put in the 300+ range

i snaped 1. but it was damaged from a car accident i had a few years back and wasnt really because of the power the car was maken. that was at 16psi with SLICKS.. havent had any other issues, actually i dont think anyone has had any issues with axles on are cars cuz no one is making enough power to do it.
honestly u shouldnt worri about breaking an axle. if they break.. there 80$ replacements on advancedautoparts.. if u want upgrades, (that normally break just as easilly, there about 1400) most honda guys arent even replaceing there axles, its cheaper to stick to OEM and cheap OEM replacements
i have a 2 sets of axles sitting in my back shed.. If/when i go to the track next month, ill be bringing both sets with me JUST incase.. take 20 mins to replace an axle, would hate to break one and have to drive all the way home and ruin the day.
'ozturbo' is working on a heat treated version of the oem axle, which would allow more abuse. (but there bound to break either way, built or not)
