Turbo Question

I am not new to turbocharging vehicles but am however new to turbocharging lancers. What is the best option for a turbo manifold to use for a 2003 ES? I want to run a T3/T4 since I have an extra one laying around that was gonna be used on my CRV. I have done lots of searching and found only Turbo manis set to use the 16G turbo. That is just a little small I think. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

speedcorps has the manifolds i think for 300 but you are correct and they are meant for the 16G, you will probably have to get one customized, or weld a flange on a 4G63 manifold with a T3/T4 flange.

you could sell your turbo and buy the 16G turbo and just buy the manifold from speed corps so you dont have to hassle with the manifold. but this is a reccomendation because its the easiest

Do you have a link to this manifold? I can't find anything on their website.

Is the 16g a better turbo for this motor. I have turbo'd many hondas, nissans, and toyotas but always used t3/t4s or gt35s.

If you go with a 16g and use the speedcorps manifold you can use most of the turbo stuff out of an evo. Like the 16g, intercooler, piping, etc. That'd probably be the cheapest most easy route to go.

thats avery open ended question.

It all depends on what you wants to do with it, and/or how far you wants to go with it..
for a typical DD that someone wants to do it for cheap, then yes a 16g has his benefits.. but someone wanting a serios track or autocross car, they may want to go smaller or bigger depending on what they like to get into.. anyone huge into the street racing scene or drag racing or just good old highway fun would really need to go to a much larger turbo.. Hondas.. AKA 1.6 and 1.8L motors do fine on smaller turbos.. but nicely built 2L motors can handle a LARGE t3 or a small t4 turbo very well without any issues.. and lets not forget.. Turbo Lag = a Daily Drivers friend.. u can drive around all day long outside of boost without any issues and get amazing gas mileage.
if u want something cheap that u can put together thats remotely simple.. go with whatever u can get ur hands on and have someone make it work for you. that could be a t28/16g/t3t4 or wahtever else.. modifiing a HONDA turbo manifold with our exhaust flange opens up endless possibilities.

All Depends on what you plan on doing with your car and what u want it for.

I myself.. = Highway fun, some random street use, and dragway. it is not a daily driver, and i trailer it to events.. so i went BIG turbo.. actually i donno of anyone that has used a larger turbo then me ever on this motor.. and i absolutely love it.. and i still get into boost really fast. and my powerband is 10x better then a 16gs for WOT power.
