I feel ya man, I've put so much money and time into my Lancer that for the pennies I will get in return I will never sell it!!!

For my thirst of more speed, I just bought a motorcycle!

Well put on a new aluminum intake pipe. OBX is selling just the pipe for like 35 after shipping and i had couplers. i think its a 3" tube. i had to use one flex coupler cuz it rubbe the coolant tubing.

anyways i got it on there and dang i went from 250-260 load to 305 load. you can for sure hear the spool better. and it was running super rich after that. probably cuz i wasnt tuned for those loads but now im back into tuning mode and ill see how it goes. I really think for the dollar its worth it. i want to get a different diverter valve next.

Should have multi quoted but oh well. You did the upper intercooler pipe right not the lower one. I'm looking to upgrade alot of things next year inside the engine bay and piping is one of them.

Im still having this same crappy problem i have been having since i've gone turbo.

whenever i rev my engine it will decel like normal but keep going past target idle (set at 898) and go below 500 rpm every time. i've seen it go to 140 rpm and recover, and a lot of the time it dies.

It doesn't matter how high i rev. if its over 1500 it will dip hard.

I have so far played with everything in the tephra rom i have running. iscv values. injector/fuel settings. Timing. Maf scaling/smoothing. Latencies. accel enrich. literally everything.

What i most likely think it is:
IAT control valve
MAF (evo8 399)

Other ideas:
my crushed evo9 dv
vac leak somewhere??? idle vac @20in and done boost leak test. everything ok
bad ground... somewhere somehow.

I have removed the iac valve and cleaned it. tested it according to service manual. seems to be doing what the manual says it should do. still don't want to rule it out tho.

cleaned up the maf.
cleaned inside tb.
set idle according to FSM

Also- when i do the rev just a tap, AFRs go from normal-lean (cause i let off)-then around 10-somethhing rich.

batter and Alt are both fine.

Im not sure which direction to go but i will start replacing everything starting with iac valve then DV then maf.

Any advice would be great. or if you're having a similar issue let me know. or if you're having any idling issues besides this i could probably help since i have touched on everything but the solution to this problem.

I have the same issue as you but I haven't really played with anything since I don't have a computer at the moment.

I had the same issue and it turned out to be the MAF. Are you running very rich when the rpm drops below idle? If so, let me know and I will send you my MAF scalings.
