Just bought at evo 8 turbo and wanted to know how it looks (concerns)? Its from a evo 2005 evo 8 (10.5). Everything looks good but want to know what you guys think. I had my friend who is familiar with turbos look at it and he said the shaft is in excellent condition (no shaft play). Also, how does the chamber that goes to the wga work? I'm getting closer guys

10.5 huh. Any concerns on the lag??

Turbo looks like mine when I bought it. As long as there is no shaft play you are good. How many miles were on it??

 

lag? what lag.. if u spool before 3k. u aint laggin.. :P
i love full boost just before 4k.

 

Seller said 25,000ish. Not too concerned about lag LOL I just want to boost right now. I'm planning to upgrade the engine as money frees up but I don't anticipate doing that for a year or two. My ultimate goal is to have a reliable daily driver running between 10 to 15 psi. I just need my couplers, gauges, tactrix cable, & little stuff (gaskets, oil tap, & feed). I hope I can start my build before it snows.

A few questions guys. Does anyone run a VOLT GAUGE? I really don't see a need for one but the lancer cluster doesn't have one. I'm planning to buy gauges next. So far I am fixed on oil pressure & water temp. I'm still decided weather to get a oil temp or volt gauge. I'm seriously looking at the prosport premium peak/warning gauges with the sandwich adapter as well. I'll be running a AEM AFR gauge tho so I can log it. Also what do you guys think of the feed kit below?

I know the feed is a lot but everyone I talk to about my build has been telling me to take my time and do it right

EDIT* Also planning on getting a egt and boost as well

 

Water temp, oil pressure, boost gauge.. all u really need for monitoring.. tuning however u do need a wideband for sure, egt if possible

get an oil temp that will save your motor compared to a volt meter

 

So heres what I'm planning to get: oil pressure, boost, AEM wideband, EGT, water temp, & oil temp. I figure a set of jumper cables can replace a volt gauge LMAO I decided to finish up the exhaust parts then move on to gauges. I'm gunna get a megan o2 and test pipe this week and slowly get some gauges over the next few weeks. We just picked up a awesome jeep rubicon so that might slow the build down a little. I'm pretty sure I'll be completing the build by the end of October.
