Hey guys kinda new to this posting stuff. But I have ran into a problem at the last stage of my Custom Turbo Build. The car will not idle correctly at all, and when given gas instantly dies. I cannot for the life of me figure out why, and i miss my lancer. Any and all help would be nice. THANK YOU

 

T3 Turbo
T3/t4 4g63 mani With 4g94 flange
Hks BOV
5 psi external wastegate
JDM sport intercooler, currently not hooked up.
Prospect afr gauge
Glow shift boost gauge.
Probably missing some

 

So your intercooler is not hooked into to the piping? Is the piping complete to the throttle? If not that's your problem. A boost leak will throw your idle off. You running stock injectors and maf?

 

I have an intercooler. But rn om running Un intercooled air such as RRM Kit does. And yes stock maf and injectors till I Atleast can drive her. I think I can run stock maf up to 10psi? And I plan on only running 5 (or less) till I can get need intercooler pipes. That's the reason I currently run Un intercooled air.

I don't see your wastegate on top. Is it on?

 

Does it try to turn over? We need more info. What are you tuning with? If it's a evo rom it could be a few things.

 

If it's idling its most likely something with the rom. If you're running ecuflash. Check your injector scaling, maf settings, and injector latencys. Does it go lean or rich when you gas it?

 

last night it idled for 7 to 9 seconds and then die. If given gas killed it instantly. I have stock rom. Can you help me with figuring out the rom. I have ecuflash evoscan tactrix cable. I have stock rom still. And wastegate is that open whole right of mani. No dump on it. Thank you so much for the help. Can i om you my phone number?

 

It should at least idle if you're on the stock rom. I'll help you here in case someone else has the same problem. Did you check your coils and maf sensor wires?

 

When it idles does it run lean or rich?

 

You'll need to get a evo 8 rom (regular or tephra) if your car is manual. If you're driving a automatic you'll need one of Roadspikes maps. I would copy the settings over from Roadspikes maps if you use a evo 8 rom. Be sure to copy the maf, injector settings, etc. Also be sure the immobilizer is not on. Here's a link to the hug maps. It's a M/T. Is tephra a type of rom for the evo? The idle was inconsistent. Bounced 1500 to 1000 and my afr was going nuts

 

I'm going to check my coils, plugs and wire right now. New coil packs and wires we installed during project phase. I used dielectric grease and everything. Will check again

 

Yeah tephra is a evo rom. I'm on tephra now. I would suggest getting the tephra rom and copying the lancer settings from the big maps over to the tephra rom. Try the tephra rom and see what happens. You may need to copy the "idle step tables" over too. Did you go to a colder spark plug?
