Eliminating a factory fan is not recommended... that is why you should install another fan if you take out the stocker. Doesn't hurt to be safe. One fan in 90 degree weather will put a hurt on the motor. Your water temp might not reflect it as much since it's just an dummy gauge anyway, but the engine will know/feel the rise in temp and suffer from it.
Dookie, no worries i just don't want you getting into anything that might cause more problems later. I figure just come out and we'll get you going right. I know it's kindof a pain but since your relatively close it's also a great advantage. See ya soon.

The turbo only needs room for the right fan to be relocated. On my car at least, both fans run at a slow speed with the A/C off whenever the coolant temp gets too hot. Then when the A/C is on, both run at high speed. So actually, both fans serve a cooling purpose, A/C or not....
Hmm I don't know how I missed this thread all this time, but I know a guy who's had the TSI kit for a long time. He's had trouble with it from the start if i remember right. The install was difficult and required some custom work I think. Right now he's got a boost leak.
Dummy gauge or not you open his hood after pounding on it and its cooler than my car after its been idling for 10mins. My opinion is if it's intercooled and your cooling system is in decent shape it doesn't really need that other fan, his EGT is more than 200 degrees cooler than it was NA. Cooler air in cooler air out.
Got this off the first page... hope you can see it down there. Appears that you might have to extend the wiring to get to that point. They probably supply the wire you just cut/splice it in.
