What are these features for on the CDA-9830?
I am really enjoying my new Alpine CDA-9830, but am sort of confused by some features. For instance, is it better for FM tuning to have it set to distance mode, or local mode, or manual mode? Which will better tune in stations?
Also, what is the defeat mode for? For example I have subw>balance>fader>defeat>volume>subw.

distance, local, and manual means how easy it is to tune in. when you set it to manual and hit seek it stops on EVERY station, literally every station if it receives signal or not.
the defeat button... make sure you keep this OFF. if you turn defeat on, it disables bass and treble and ANY other equalization options (including MediaExpander).
