How much power can the sun&sound package handle?

Say if I put my Alpine in the car, how much power can the sub handle in the trunk?
Also, can I relocate the sub elsewhere in the trunk so I can install my strut bar? I just picked up this 05 OZ Ralliart racing edition, and traded ion my 05 ES.

Come on, 12 views and no one knows the answer? Someone has had to pump power into the sun and sound sub with an aftermarket HU before.

Any aftermarket radio you put on the stock system wont hurt anything. The average alpine radio only puts out 22-40 watts RMS. Anything bigger the radio wont have an internal amp. You will be fine changing that radio, just dont go crazy with the eq setting and volume because 50% of the time distortion will destroy speakers, not power.

ok, do you have a "ralliart" or an "oz". they are two diffent cars.
Anyways, you said you have the sun and sound pack right??? And by Alpine do you mean alpine head unit???
If so the speakers including the sub, is hooked up to the stock amp, so that means you can put any head unit to it and it will not make your speakers louder.

You should also do some searching to find out some of your questions?

OK, I have an answer for you. I have a friend who has a 2004 Lancer Ralliart with the Sun and Sound package. He replaced his stock head unit and put in an Alpine (not sure which, but it has 3 sets of 4 volt preouts, WMA/MP3, etc.) and the head unit does NOT make anything louder. You do need; however, an adapter to attach to the stock amplifier. It has two sets of RCA plugs that plug into your new head unit's RCA outs (front and rear) and converts into an adapter that attaches to the amp. Then, it runs off of your head units controls, but since the speakers are amplified, as with any other amplified speaker, the power comes from the AMP and NOT the head unit. It sounds clearer because of the better equalizer. I would recommend just changing the stock head unit because for me, I listen to mostly death and black metal and the stock 8" sub sounds perfect and rounds out all the sound. Hope this helps you.

Ok, here is my take on this. I have an 04 with sun and sound package. I put an alpine IVA-D901 head unit in with sirius and ipod hookup. Personally I think its a little louder, but definately cleaner sounding. All speakers are stock as is the amp, and like utiheadbanger said you need the adapter to use the stock amp. As far as strut tower support for the rear goes, you could contact PDXRalliArt on this site, he makes a custom strut that goes around the sub, below is the link.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ar+strut+tower

There are pics in the link, very nicely made and not too hard to install if you have some technical skill. Either way if you search in the forums you should find what you are looking for. I do not know if it will fit an 05 OZ edition, ask PDXRalliArt he should be able to tell you if it can fit or if he can make one to fit. Dont know if it is the same size wheel base as the RalliArt but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Thats just my 2cents.

PAC Audio sells the adapter you are looking for. I bought one for my dad's Intrepid with the Infinity head unit. If you search online, you may find one...there is no splicing invlolved. The way this one in particular worked was it went between the head unit and the factory wiring... http://parts-express.com has what you are looking for...at least that is where my friend bought his for his Lancer Ralliart.
