If I were you I would get Kicker 15" L7 good sub and cheaper than JL Audio.JL Audio charges too much for there subs and they arent that good compared to other brands.

w-7. I have had just about every sub on the planet, these are the best. The will play rap to rock without distortion. the boom is there and they are tight when the mid bass hits. The kickers are ok, but a 15 is too big for a car- One thing: you have to run a lot of power to them.

For car our size, may i recommend a 10 inch sub. Nice tight bass. I have two and they sound great...

the JL audio W7 is unbelievable, especially paired up with the 1000/1 jl amp. I have some pics of this set up in my car with the full farad cap on the original thread, and it is still up for sale...plays amazing and is like new.

good luck with your choice. PM me if you are interested.

jl 10w7. I have that with the 500/1 amp, and even with that, its sick as hell. I listen to everything from 50 to punk, and it all sounds good. Plus, I can hear it so nicely over my catless, mufferless, Buschur 3-inch tb exhaust on the Evo.

^ +1 the w7 can get loud with the best of them, plus it is an extremely musical woofer. it just depends on what you are after...if you are just going for SPL, then there are any number of subs you could run. if you are concerned w/ SQ, you may also want to consider Image Dynamics. plain and simple...the w7 is a VERY versatile sub. you can't go wrong with one. just make sure you have a solid amp to really make it perform.

i'm not a huge JL fan. but, you're statement is pretty bold. the L7 is an SPL sub. meaning basically, it's meant to get loud... and just that. it's not meant to sound good or clean, but to some peoples' ears they do.

before you go out buying a w7 or the RF's, have you heard them both? i'd basically determine the purchase on whatever sounds best to you. hell, it's your car and your ears. good luck!

Anyone have a personal experience with the new MTX 9500 12"? Heard those are comparable to JL's W series.
