Advice

Hi, im kind of new to the audio systems and what not, I have an 04 lancer oz, it has the ralliart body type not the old lancer body, I was just wondering what kind of subs and amp would be good for the car so that it has a nice sound, so the bass hits pretty well but nothing that makes the trunk make that awful sound to the people outside, pretty much somethign that sounds really good inside as well, I dont know if i will need new speakers too because they dont seem to be taking the bass well anymore, they are making a little bit of a crackling noise when the bass is high. .but any advice I would appreciate..Also if u could give the brand names and what kind..Thanks for any help

Yeah, you're gonna need new speakers. As for the sub/amp thing, it all depends on what you think sounds nice. I have friends that think that bass you can hear at the top of a 7 story parking garage while they are still driving up to the entrance is the shiz, yet I think that much is a little rediculous because I don't want everything to be drowned out by lows. Anyway, I have a Pioneer TS-W306DVC 12" powered by a Pioneer GM-7100M with a Pioneer DEH-P3800MP deck. It does the job for me when I'm just listening to music, but it doesn't hit hard enough when some thug in a Caddy stops next to me and decides to mess with the Asian kid listening to punk rock. I do get a bit of trunk rattle (the kind you said you don't want), but not much if I'm not blasting it.

i have diamond audio all around, and it sounds amazing, but you have to be willing to pay the price.. the setup i have was around $3000 w/o labor.. but if you looking for something entry level, diamond has some cheaper speakers and a great entry level amp. also i would look into eclipse speakers.. they also have some nice components for reasonable price. i have a single 12" in my trunk and it rattles pretty good.. i dont know how much more or less the 04 style will rattle because it has the licence plate on the deck lid, but deffinetly put some sound detenor in the truck to help aleviate some of the rattling

Go with 2 kicker 10's and you will not be disappointed. Get the kicker comp CVR 10" subs and they are awesome for rock, and compliment c/ rap. Then kicker also makes an awesome 300 watt amp (yeah i know 300 wats woopie) except for the fact that when i bought my gf hers its certified at 340 RMS. It comes with a gain control also that you can put up by your seat so you can easily lower the volume of the subs, and turn it back up. I have kicker comp CVR 15's and they are wayyy to damn loud. People dont even want to ride with it that high so its not worth it. Also the kicker amp has good ventillation, easy add second amp.
