UPDATE!!

so i fleeced the other side today, took me about half teh time looks like im getting better!













enjoy next is teh actuall glassing part! pray that i do a good job

UPDATE!!!!!!!!

so i finally got my glassing stuff in (thanks IONSQL!) and i started right away! heres what i came up with!





first off here is my bro helping with with taping off teh left side of the trunk...





next i start to resin teh largest and eisast part of the box...



and finally after about 90 minuites of bending over backwards, literally, lol...its done, check it out, lemme no what u think



here are my gloves to showq just how messy this **** is lol



oh and here is a pic to show how strong just a single coat of resin is...not too shabby eh?

MINI UPDATE!

ok gyes, so i was to physced up to just sit around and watch my half done trunk dry...so...i decided to do teh other side



this one went much faster than the orange side...



i also cut out the centers (for the most part) of the speaker rings...who knew resin could be so tought to cut through!

so i forgot to mention all the cool **** i got today...i got in all my 1/0 awg wiring (stinger of corse) as well as all expert series Fuse holder and digital battery terminals

Ever wonder what $350 worth of wiring looks like?

if you don't mind my asking, why did you go with yellow and Orange? or Red? or whatever that color is? I'm not saying their bad colors, and i love how your project is turning out, just wondering why you wanted those colors.

yeah i got some kicker pro hyperflex 1/0 and my gosh its huge, i got some stinger too its got almost 1000 more strands than that... rediculously big and $5 a foot

looks sweet man, love the progress

wow nomadder now many times i come back to this thread it just better and better evertime, keep up the great work; I do have two qestions for you.

1st what kind of fleece is that? (I.E. 30% cotton and 70% polyester)
2nd how are you going to paint this project whenyour done??

im not sure what percentage the fleece, i no its walmart brand tho, lol...

and once it is all done it will jsut be painted in teh car, after ALOT of masking off...

and oh, i chose yellow because it was teh same color as my car and orange because i ran outa yellow, lol

Lay glass on teh inside to help bond the fleece to the wood. I normally remove it from the car, unscrew the rear wood panel and do all the glassing inside the enclosure. You bond to the edge of the interior MDF and it makes the outside easier to smooth out.

From inside you should put a layer of hairy glass then go on top with heavy woven. Then immediately put hairy over that to soak up any excess resin. Resin is brittle, glass is strong. I've built upper 150 db glass enclosures with 2 layers this way. If glass dries completely etch it with acetone before the next layer to promote bonding.

LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE A LOT OF SANDING TO DO! good luck!
