Too bad I didn't find this post earlier......

What you need is a WIRED FM modulator. $30 and you're good to go.

What it does is go inline your antenna wire, and then power, then there is a headphone jack.

What you do is dial in your radio to the set channel and you're good to go. It's exactly like an FM modulator, but it's bypassing directly to the deck and not really through a radio signal. Tons of XM units have it, you can buy one at circuit city.

It is kinda too late but I was getting an HU anyway so I figured I would just get one that had a Aux input for a MP3 player. Now I got the HU but it doesn't make any sound. I have to bypass my amp and rewire all the speakers (which I don't feel like doing)!

Smart choice aquaman... FM trannys are NOT the way to go... i tried 5 diffrent ones with the same conclusion... they make a nice paperweight.

Hey guys I have a question. I'm trying to wire my ipod into my HU and I saw the red and white auxillary connectors in the back. I got a chord from best buy that connects an mp3 player with these two connectors. I tried playing it through the auxillary option on my HU and it was not coming through.

On a few songs I could hear it just barely, but it was really faint and distorted. My HU is a sony and has an aux port right on the front, but i was looking for a cleaner look so i tried to go through the back. Any suggestions?

make sure that isnt output :P

ipod quality really isnt that good, coming through headphone jack, cuz its the ipod telling the HU the frequency and it just boosting that, rather than the HU just doing it.
kind of like connecting a speaker to the ipod, and then connecting it to a deck... theres a diffrence

if you dont want to see the wire, run it all the way up your center console and itl come up beside the arm rest.
