Question about adding mp3 player to OEM head unit

Is there any way to hook up a non-iPod mp3 player to the factory head unit using the DIN plug on the back of the stock head unit? I have seen DIN to mini-jack adapter cables, but will they work?

the din to mini jack will work.. but its a mitsu plug with a special box to make the factory radio reconize the mp3 player i believe. But you will still have to control it through your player not your deck.

Any idea where this can be sourced? I am only aware of the iPod adapter...
