If they flush mounted the deck, sorry to say there won't be a way to get the trim ring around it. Some of the guys here just electrical taped the outside of the deck (The mounting sleeve) to get that gap minimalized. If you actually want to use the trim ring, you are going to have to take the deck back out, and mount the brackets back 1 place. Then the deck sits out from the dash enough to use the trim ring Kenwood supplied. It all depends on what look you are going for really. I didn't mind seeing the trim ring sticking out from the dash, so I mounted the brackets back a bit. Hope that helps a bit man.....

I had to adjust the mounting sleeve on my Alpine to get it to sit out enough to fit the trim ring on.

You will probably have to pull it back out to fix it tho.

I put spacers (washers will also work) between the brackets behind the screws and the dash and with thick enough spacers (not to thick) your head unit will clear just enough to put on your trim peice. It works very well and doesnt come loose. Plus you wont have to risk breaking your trim peice in order to take the headunit out.

I just really don't understand how that won't go on like it is now? Maybe trim a "hair" around the din/dash area?

^ Agreed.... Mine snapped right in, true, it was the 2nd try however..... tried putting it on upside down.... Meh, good for a laugh I guess....

Just check the 'teeth' and make sure it clicks in place properly. If they look broken, odds are they are. That's the only reason I can see it not catching on the slots.... other then it being upside down, but I am the only one not patient enough to pay attention like that.... LOL
