so i got the new unit and installed it and i love it! looks and functionality both are awesome. pic is attached. sorry the camera battery was down so just snapped one with the phone but will get better ones soon. the only thing is there is space around the headunit where u can see the metal part. the unit came with a front frame that just snaps on to cover that open area but the unit is not out far enough for that frame to fit and i have the unit out as much as possible by the mounting brackets. so does anyone know how i can resolve this issue?

Then I said f***k it and got a Alpine since everyone I asked was like Alpine the s***t man! well it did get that feeling the first few months but then it fizzled out. My mediocre experiences with car stereos might be because I usually go for the entry level (low end) units. I have to add that I came across a fairly new Alpine model X000 something and it look super cool, I guess I just need to save up my pennies and get a top of the hill model.

Oh now I remember it was a x100 unit I think, oddly what I liked about it was the old school clock.
i wouldn't pee on an Alpine if it was on fire! Eclipse is the way to go IMO they have a better warranty and are of excellent quality. to each his/her own though

Eclipse use to be sooooo much better, but along with other brands like Soundstream they've been purchased, sold, or mergered with other companies and the quality goes down...right along with the QC.
