Well I am starting to tear into the car and have found that the rear speakers in the 09 (not sure about the 08) use a twist and lock feature if you take and draw a line on the outside of the tabs in the doors it makes a perfect circle. You will need a good air saw with a short blade or some nice tin snips to cut out the sheet metal. i had to put a trim ring down to raise the speaker because the depth hit the brace for the door. The magnets on the MCSYNC 6.5 where too big. You could probably trim the door and fit 5.25 in there if you wanted. There is also plenty of room to rivet your crossovers inside the door and clear the window when its down.
I go the steering wheel control hooked up. I used the PAC SWI-JACK it wasnt too hard too hook up. The diagram I got was backwards but after checking with the volt meter I got it done. I tapped the white wire into the blue wire on the mits side of the speaker harness and then made a ground wire to ground out the black wire. Put the PAC on selection 3 for kenwood and then programed it to 8 and taught it the buttons.
