Where to mount 1/2 DIN equalizer?

What would be a good spot to mount an equalizer in an 02-06 lancer, with minimum cutting or reshaping needed. I was thinking in the lower cubby below the A/C controls, but I would like to know where other people have mounted theirs. Thanks, and pics are greatly appreciated!

Do you want it visible? How about in the center console or on the side of the console? glovebox perhaps? Post up a pic of your dash so I can get a better visual.

Perferrably visible, so I can access the controls without having to have my armrest or the glove box open. I don't have any pics on hand right now, but I can most likely get some here in like an hour when i'm out of class. Its the same interior thats in the evos just light grey

Don't you need to be able to access the volume controls and sub control?

i think mounting it in the cubby hole would look the best, and be easiest for you to control.

no you don't need the volume an sub control all the time you set it with your deck at 80% volume said to be where you should get the best sound with out distortion then set the EQ off of that then there's really no need for it unless you want to turn down you bass but then agian you can also do that form the deck. if you want to mount it in the cubby hole take it out, drill a hole far enough back to where you can fit the wires through then use thoe 90 degree brakets that came with the unit face them upward use a couple screws to mount to the top of thee cubby holes and then use some speed clips on the out side of the cubby hole where the screws came through screm them through those so the eq wont strip out the plastic.

agree with chdb2005. i know people like messin with their eq 4x each song but eq's are used to help tweak and set up your soundstage and left alone. maybe, at best a few presets if you jump from extremes in music type or recordings. rrm has a stereo relocation pannel that replaces your cubby with an exact factory looking one except its cutout is a made for full din head unit...if were to do it, i would get that and cut up a sheet of abs plastic with 1/2 din opening and mount it there and keep my factory unit where it is. http://www.roadracemotorsports.com/s...roducts_id=364
