so would i be able to buy the same sub from the dealer? and would i be able to get the same enclosure etc for the opposite side of the trunk?
and if i do buy a sub from the rf website, which model number would match most closely to the oem's specs.

No... even the LHD JDM and EDM markets have it the same as USDM. You'll have to have it custom made. Honestly I would find a buddy or maybe a stereo shop and have 2 custom made that supports a bigger range of subs. You can also upgrade the amp while you're at it.
well all i want is to add another sub, the same one, in the same enclosure, on the opposite side of the trunk. im just asking if it's possible.
i'm fine with adding another amp to give power to the new sub.

^+1, You could try just taking a OEM enclosure and make a custom bracket for the other side. It may work.
I like how the OEM subwoofer enclosure doesnt take up alot of space. If you do go ahead post some pictures / how to for other people thinking of doing this.
Edit: I think i spoke to someone saying they wanted to add a OEM RF sub to thier ES and asked the dealer. $650 +- for the setup (i think this may include the sub but not sure). I would try someone selling one before i pay $650.
