Wire harness question

Hi Everyone!

I have a 2011 GTS with the regular radio (non-rockford), I want to keep that and add an amp for a 10inch sub. I plan to use a LOC and tap into the rear speakers from behind the head unit. I am leery of splicing right into the factory wires so here is what I plan to do. Get two wire harnesses, 1 factory and 1 aftermarket (e.g. Metra part #s 71-7005 and 70-7005) and solder/connect the wires together. This would essentially create an extension cable for the factory harness.

From there I would splice into my extension cable for the LOC. What do you guys think about doing something like that? If I royally mess something up at least I've only ruined the extension and not anything on the factory wires.

Thoughts??

Hi!
You can use high level adapter as Mystery MAD HL

use it to convert oem wire from rear speakers in 2 line out and add amp to sub.
