i had the alpine typer r subs, and they couldn't come close to handling my jl 500/1 amp set on the lowest settings, so i got the jl 12's and all i can say is bump.

 

Who are you trying to fool?

JBL is a Pro Audio company, always will be...their home theatre stuff sucks, so does their car audio junk.

Alpine isnt perfect either, but they've been about car audio the whole time...think about it!

No, I'm just saying that there's a lot more time and experience in Alpine...

JBL is the cat's *** in Pro Audio stuff, and as of lately their car audio stuff isnt THAT bad, but we're comparing alpine to jbl. Pound for Pound, SPL wise, the JBL would probably go louder but Alpine has more than just subs, amps and speakers. They've got everything, and JBL doesnt...

I'm not saying that JBL is junk, im saying that You're comparing Apples to Oranges, and the oranges taste better.

Just because my car is rockford doesnt mean that it's all i like, or it's what i think is the best, nor is it all I sell...I work at a local audio store. Rockford is one of the brands that I sell...do I think it's the best? No. My car having rockford is simply a marketing strategy. If I had it my way, it would be memphis...or JL.

I'd like to have JL in my car...that's what I would stand behind the most...are they the best? no....there is no "Best"...

You'd probably like the JBL subs for SQ. Would I go with one? With the range of produts out there? not nesessarily, if you're limited to a few brands, then it's definately one to consider....Build the right box, and a good higher-end JBL sub would work good for SQ...

Speakers for JBL are very durable, but they arent SQ speakers...

JBL Amps are good...no better than anything else (not the huge ****, their regular ones)

You're obviously very sided to JBL, so why are we discussing this anyway!?
