Lightbulb The Making of...

Imma be taking pix as I go about building my custom trunk setup... I hope u guys like the pix.

MDF All cut up

Lexan and Scrap wood

My plans for cutting the MDF and building the setup

I broke the tube gun in a fit of rage, so i had to cut open the tube of glue and scoop it with a knife to apply it.

My car in the garage

Messy work area... slowly but surely coming together

Putting together the subframe for the false floor (to lift the floor 4")

My sub box so far... gotta cut the hole out for the sub before i put the last peice on top.

All the crap from inside my trunk taken out.

Wheel gap before approximately 300 pounds of audio equipment goes in the trunk.

Interior all torn apart... I wonder why

Messy rear, how can anyone survive sitting back there?

Trunk from seats folded down

Bare trunk before anything is put in.

Well, that's it for today folks... tune in tomorrow night for another update on the status of my trunk setup.

looks pretty decent so far. if you are investing all this time and money into this, why are you using LEGACY wiring?

Sorry peeps, no update yet... barely had time to work on it today and didnt accomplish enough to motivate myself to take pix and upload it. Just cut out the hole for the sub and put the cover on the sub box, and fit everything together in the trunk.... Tomorrow i gotta do wiring and actually screw everything together to complete the setup and buy and do the carpeting.

Aight got alot done today... most of the woodworking is done and the make-it-look-good stuff is left. I gotta carpet everything and run some more wiring. I also gotta get someone to cut the lexan for me... here are the pix!

View from left.

View from center.

View from right.

Wire coming out of the speaker box from the sub

Wire coming out to the "amp floor"

View from the extreme right to show flush installation against trunk frame.

Awww... how cute... Kareem loves Evom.net

REALLY messy garage.

Side of car COVERED with sawdust.

Self explainitory

My jigsaw broke so i had to use a router to cut the hole out for the sub... the tip of it is black cuz the wood was burning as it was being cut. This bit was silver before I started to use it

Lexan being measured for the cut.

That's it for tonite folks... thanks for tuning in. It's gonna be a while before you see anything else done cuz i gotta focus on school during the week. But I will continue next weekend.

Nice looking setup so far. Almost exacly what I've built but no false floor. I stuck my amps into some "built in" amp rack on the box.

Is there any reason why you went so thick on the false floor. I mean 3/4 wood only for the floor will weight a lot. A thin sheet over a strong base would have giving you the same result, without the weight, right? Or am I missing something

Home depot sells MDF in large sheets (49" by 97"). So I didnt wanna waste any and wood and used it for the sub box and the false floor.

If I need the spare tire... i call triple A and get towed to the nearest place that can fix the tire.

Well... the box ends where u see the screws around the sub. The big peice around the sub is only to re-inforce the box to hold the sub up and also to mask part of the trunk.
