Best Sounding Speakers/subs??
i treat alpine car stuff like i treat bose home stuff.
easy way out
not the best. definatly better stuff out there. both are guarenteed to be good but they come with a price. if you want guarenteed quality without any research, go for alpine. (their new headers btw aren't all that they should be.)
for head unit i'd go with eclipse. they're pretty nice h/u's and they're the only company that completly guarentees to replace your unit if it gets stolen
i'm a big polk audio fan (yay usa) and that's for 2 reasons: good sq and not obnoxiously expensive. i don't have tons to spend on my sound. of course there's better but i'm all about getting the best from what you pay.
subs, once again, polk. i've got a polk MOMO sub in my trunk... 12", 500rms 1000 peak... box is only .88 cubic feet. that is really small. it hits really hard, but sounds very nice.
amp: once again you get what you pay for. i'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet, but phoenix gold is the way to go for amps. they're so nice. tough part of polk and pg are avaiability. polk stuff just started going on crutchfield which is nice, but PG you need to find a local retailer for...

a headunit is a headunit. you get what you pay for. people prefer different things. same with speakers. we're just here to give you a starting point
with all this debate i'm anxious to hear what you get. keep us posted.

the best highs are gonna come from infinity's definitly and the best amp u could buy i would have to say is the jbl power series. i have one and it pounds my two '12 eclipse's. now for subs i would have to say either jl audio or the kicker solo's. but definitly get the amp and its even a four channel.
