Dont know much about audio..

Wait, change that not much.. to hardly any at all.

Would I be able to run a12 inch sub with 400 watt amp with the stock deck and speakers?

I want a nice thump but nothing rattling the car or something that'll wake up the neighbours.

yes you can...just need a high to low converter...to go your local audio shop they would have it...though everytime you turn your radio off your gonna get a loud surge...not much to deal with...

You can get an inline pop stopper to kill that surge from turning off the amp, also its going to sound a lot better with basically ANY deck that has rca outputs for your amp for your subs and you can do that from 100 bucks on up its well worth it as the stock high output deck isnt really made to run an amp. It will also save you the cost of having to rerun wires and ditch the high/low converter when you decide to get a deck.

Dont go off your stock deck, i was gonna do that, it is such a waste of time and a pain in the ***. I just went and bought a cheap deck with rca outs. TRUST me, the convertor is a pain in the ***. This is only my opinion.

its really not hard at all (even though i would never use one). its just two positive speaker and two negative speaker (which you can bridge by the way) signals to hook one up. and you don't even need to do it behind the stock radio. you can connect it at the back speakers and save time by only having to rout rcas in the trunk and not through the whole car. then you'll just have to catch ignition somewhere.

yeah. if you bridge the two positives together and the two negatives together, you can do it right to one speaker and zip tie it up so it doesn't hang. easy to do it cleanly. plus its eaiser to adjust the gains on it when you don't have to pull out the radio to do it! you learn these tricks/shortcuts when you do this stuff for a living. lol
