Alarm help

I need help finding an alarm that will work best for me. I recently had my sound system stolen outta my car along with a case of cds packed as full as possible. I dont know anything about alarms I just know I do not want this to happen agian. Nothing was broken and the car was locked so Im kinda looking towards something you touch and it starts giving off warrnings letting you know its got an alarm. I hate to have to do this on a car that is stock but I dont have much of a choice right now cause it sucks not being able to feel like your car is safe right outside your window so any advise other than a gun would be very much appreciated.

hey man, just get a basic alarm, thats what i did, i got a basic alarm, it chirps when someone taps it, and it goes off if someone hits it and it came with keyless entry and starter disable, it is a prestige alarm and im pretty happy with it.

i don't think you are going to install it yourself....just hit up circuit city or some good shop and look into either viper or clifford

both are damn good alarms, and while u at it get a remote start for those cold mornings

look to spend around $200-300 installed

viper is made by dei, same company that makes clifford and black widow, get a clifford same thing as a viper, just as good, and trust me, they're worth it.

i use to work for best buy ... ask them about the proxy sensor ... it cherps when some thing gets near. its usually for converts when they leave the top down. its about 30 bucks extra.

How about those that sell in ebay for less than $50. (like the link above) What do you guys think of it? Is it a waste of money?

it's a complete waste unless you install it yourself. most places will NOT install an alarm unless they carry it in their store. mainly cuz of tech support issues and stuff like that. so, if you buy one of those or a bulldog alarm or anything no-name, good luck findin a place to install it.

I work at bestbuy and I can tell you it's well worth going there to get the alarm. The install is part of the price of the alarm. If you have the money ($500) go with the viper 791 its a two-way alarm so if it goes off the remote will let you know up to a 1/4 of a mile away.

Most stores in my area will install an alarm even if it isn't from them.
