Forget the PS2... people should start putting Atari7200's on the cars... Pong or Pitfall anyone? just kidding. EcrsEvo: that setup looks nice and clean... mad props

if your putting a ps or any console in your car for that matter and actually intend to play it for longer than a few minutes, you shouldnt put it into a box or especially not in the glovebox as its very likely that it will overheat and either crash, games start playing like ****, or have parts of the console melt. trunk isnt the best place either as it gets no cold air back there, not to mention who wants to have to stop the car and go back to the trunk everytime they wanna change games =(

like a few other people said also the vibrations arent good for it either and if you live in a hot area the heat that buildups when you park your car are bad for the console as well.

pst

I have a 7.2 in fold out screne in my car and I put my ps2 under the seat. Havent had a problem with it yet its been under there for a bout 2 months, I was just happy that it didnt skip while driving, says alot about the ps2 actually. And dont knock the atari in the car. When my monitor was first installed, before i installed the ps2, my brother in law (16) and i did hook up his atari in my car. Can we say defender in surround sound, oh yea!!

Check it out. I have had my carpc installed for over 8 months now and LOVE IT.

http://home.nc.rr.com/smanders/evo/carpc.html

I have GPS, DVD, MP3, 802.11b sync's webpages for offline use, desktop is 5 day forecast, sync mp3s from home PC, Napster Premium member can full songs offline without buying ;-), PS1 emulator, USB cam for recording track events, Sound goes to the AUX input of the Alpine 9813, wrote my own OBDII software in C, 7" inch VGA touchscreen folds into dash, automatically suspends with ignition signal turned off and resumes with ignition too - music comes put playing where it left off when I turned the car off without pressing a thing, Voice Recognition - however only works when at a standstill - too much road noise, roll up keyboard in case of a lot of typing. I usually use the on screen keyboard provided by XP (osk.exe) if I need to type something quick.

Future projects:
UTEC installation and integration with PC
Vary the music volume based on speed mph from GPS unit
Rear cam hooked directly to the screen into VID one
Haupage (sp?) external USB tv tuner

Any other ideas?

I have a 7 inch in dash with the Xbox under the passenger seat. Had it for about 6 months now and no problem. Sucks for me though because i can't play it but all my friends love it.

oh hey.. let me know if you wanna know how to rig an xbox to play the games without discs.. makes it GREAT for the car...

i currently have:
45 xbox games
20 movies
2 seasons of smallville (OH Yea!)
and a ****load of mp3!

all without anything in the xbox.. simple hard drive/mod trick! SO SIMPLE!!
i love it.. i just have a power switch in the dash and set to go!!

i can stick in discs and play em.. but i just usually run em off the box..

next ima hook up a wireless network adapter.. so i can play HALO ONLINE!! haha
