i just got my 7" flip out in-dash screen about 2 weeks ago. i moved my headunit down into the lower cubby whole and now have both in the set up. i have all the wires running underneath the carpeting and the ps2 is mounted under my passenger seat. i made a little harness for it to sit in and then bolted that to the floor so its not movin around when i drive. i;ve received a lot of compliments on it and personally i think its hot as hell. def turns heads while im drivin.

For the basics, really not that much.

$9 - Case - Cashbox from Office Depot
$530 - VGA Din size manual fold out screen with Touch Screen plus two video inputs
$150 - Via mini-itx motherboard
$150 - Opus Power Supply (a must!)
$20 - memory
$50 - 10 GB HD, or as big as you want
$60 - Relocation Kit
$45 - Laptop Slim DVD Drive
$15 - IDE to Slim DVD Driver Adapter
$100 - GPS USB Earthmate
$50 - Misc (Connectors, Cables, etc.)
Totals = @ $1180

That's parts. Labor was $50,000

I also wanted a head unit that has an AUX input. So I installed an Apline 9813.

I actually made the OBDII cable from Jeff's design. A link is on my site.

I did that with my Pioneer AVH-P6500DVD. Looks pretty good except for things that you need a lot of fine manuvering. Gets kinda hard to see.

My personal opinion car sound system should be a SOUND system not video... Unless you got a big *** SUV and want something in the back for kids.
Reason being:
1) when your driving you should be payin attention to the road.
2) Money is way better spent on home video/entertainment systems
3) its too easy to get that stuff stolen from your car (even with good alarm systems)
4) Trying to make your car look like fast and furious rides is way overdone
Of course this is my personal opinion so do whatever suits you best but if you wreck into me playin a PS2 while your driving expect to get your *** sued until you have nothing left

Yeah, I'd have to agree with Sentinal.....I have a PS2 in my car, but it's there cause It's a low budget solution to getting a DVD player in the car. And when the PS2 is on, the front screen is used for my rear view camera. Hard to look around 12"s. If your going to put one in, don't be an idiot, don't drive and play..........that really sounds like it should be a commercial.....lol....

Now that that has been said......

Sentinal....I know what else is going in that center console now.....a computer.....Smanders, that's ingenious stuff man....Good Work......Thanks for the idea.....

I just do not see a point in having a PS2 in my car, i would be to paranoid that people would bust my window to steal it.. plus i would rather play on a 65" tv instead of a 12"...

I have had my PS2 in my car under my passenger seat for about 2 years now and have had no problems with it. The seat clearance is well above the console. I do agree with the others about playing while driving. That is one of the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

Get some price quotes from some shops, thas the best way to find out if its worth it.

will post pics if you want
i wish i had money to spend
