Lost top end.

I'm finding that once I get to about 100mph I'm topping out, but I've had my car to 120mph before dose anyone know what could cause this. Also Dose the 05 ES have a govenor and if so where is it and how do i disable it?

have u gotten anything added like kit/wing?
or maybe got some rims?
or u just need a tune up!(oil , plugs,wires, fuel cleaner, ect)

but when you have a realy good radar detector and a clear HWY u get bored of going 70 haha

just rims went from the stock 14" to 17" but will look into a tune up

yea its the wheels fault because the 17s weight so much more than the steelies.
mine slowed down alot also when i put some wheels on it

The wheel weight won't restrict your top speed since the change in weight (if it's even detrimental) is insignificant compared to the total weight of the car (ie. it'll less than 1% of the total weight). Wheel weight becomes an issue in acceleration and handling.
120 mph on a public road is ****ing stupid, I'm seriously contemplating just reporting this thread for deletion.

yea but its going to slow down acceleration and its going to feel like top out is at 100
& i was at 100+++ yesterday

At those speeds, the wheel weight isn't a factor. It's only a problem at relatively low speeds where the car actually has to fight to get them turning. Once you're moving, it's not such a big deal.
