so changing the maf scalings wont be overwritten by the ecu when it adjusts the fuel trims? so any updates on the load your seeing now with the adjusted maf scaling?

as long as you are changing flows that you would normally only see under open loop(for me it seems between 400 and 500 and up). then it shouldn't affect your trims. the best way to do this would be to log normal cruising and spirited cruising and see at what hz the ecu crosses over to open loop and that should be the lowest one you would want to adjust.

and i have yet to log mine to see my load values, but i don't think it will effect load since this is just a multiplier for fuel at certain flows, but i could be wrong.

i did disconnect my fmu and now its running 14s afr.. so i guess im gonna have to adjust some more. hopefully i don't have to max out the scaling at 255

i logged my car also and i noticed the transition to open loop is 450hz-500hz from a 3k rpm roll.

i got 855.44 hz at 4843 rpm then i let off because it was leaning out at 12.XX AFR

complink, can you explain how you said the ECU does not respond to anything lower than 10.0 on the fuel map?

In EcuFlash, under options change the 'user level' to advanced or higher to see all the values present in the definition file. I'm looking at all of them right now. They've been there since day 1. Until yesterday, MAF scaling and MAF smoothing weren't referencing the right data and couldn't be tuned, but they were still in the definition file.

hey senate, does my stock scalings look right right to you from the photo? or rather, is the 81900016 def referencing the maf scaling numbers?

edit: nevermind senate, i had to think about what you said...

got it!

now that i got my fuel trims as close as possible to 0 (mitsulogger) i'll be playing with MAF scaling. hopefully this will solve the lean issue

well in mitsulogger there is a column for AFRmap that under normal conditions is 128. well i read somewhere (cant remember where) that if you take this number (x) and input it in the equation: 128/x*14.7 then this would be the corresponding number looked up on the fuel map... so under normal conditions 128/128*14.7=14.7 now when i would do wot runs, it would show 188 at its highest. so 128/188*14.7= 10.0085106 or rounded to 10.0 but the interesting thing was at those rpms and loads i had it maxed at 7.4.

maybe that explains why my AFR was actually better when i raised it closer to 10.0, did all those pulls for nothing!

if your idle is fine with LTFT at 0% and STFT less than 10%, then you can adjust from 400+ or 500+ hz. I wouldn't say multiply by 2 ,since when i did it, an increase by 15 or 20 dropped me close to 1 afr point. it will probably take a few trys to get in the right area. or you could try to get it to match what you have in your fuel tables and then retune your fuel tables( that is if your fuel tables are really low like 10 or less... at least thats what i intend to do)
