turbo help!

alright this is my problem i wanting to turbo my 02 lancer (4g94) well i pretty much have all the things i need well im buying it off my friend off his 97 eclipse.
the only problem we come across is the turbo manifold and we cannot find one. i was wondering if the 4g63t would fit or just need a little modification like just boreing the bolt pattern a little bit for it to fit mine. well if anyone could help me i would appreciate it alot!

Manifold flange will not fit the head. Also, the turbo from the dsm is going to be facing the wrong direction. (if thats the turbo your using) DSM turbo inlet faces the left when looking at the engine bay. You need to facing the right.

Well, if you look at the left side of your engine bay where the turbo would be facing, there is a bunch of junk in the way. You wouldn't be able to fit an intake pipe or the maft in there. I think the only way to make that turbo work would be to make a top mount manifold. The direction of the turbo is not a problem at all, it's just having room to fit everything.

it will fit. im using the dsm evo 3 big 16g in my lancer. i rotated the turbo 180 degrees so that it looks like its going the same way as the evo's. that way then you can use the evo intake as well. check my garage and my thread for details.

the flanges and gaskets my be close but they are no cigar. road race motor sports makes a dsm 4g94 turbo mani. makes life a lot easier but make sure you check the welds!

Are you using an external wastegate?

yes im using the tial 38mm. but that piece coming over from the #4 runner can always be blocked off or cut and weld the hole back up.

Nice set up though, looks really good. Is it possible to fit the wastegate actuator if not going with an external wastegate?

i believe so. just the only thing that you would have to do is custom make some ic pipes. i took mine and rotated the compressor side so that i can use all the evo pipes and not have to custom make them to work. im also using a 1g dsm turbo outlet pipe to connect up to my injen evo 8/9 lower ic pipe. kinda gotta work it in there but it holds once its in.

or you could save yourself the trouble and pick up a 4g94 turbo manifold from my buddy Justin @ www.speedcorps.com you have to email him on it since its not listed on the site ...

the runners are way off from the 4G63 to the 4g94 around 10mm difference even if you messed around and welded it up the flange pattern doesnt match so you wouldnt be as efficient as the right manifold with the correct ports..

if your building it for reliability why go halfway know what Im sayin...also the dsm intercooler absolutely will not fit without cutting the inner body section in the engine bay , trust me it has been suggested I can barely get it up in there

I wouldn't get the speedcorps manifold, a few people have had problems with them rubbing on the upper radiator hose and the welds not holding up and cracking.
