do our cars have an idle relearn procedure?

I was just reading up on a P0507 code, and found this in a nissan forum. I was wondering if Mitsubishi has anything like this going on with the lancers or their fleet at all?

I found it interesting that the ecu can learn this way on a nissan, didn't know if it was somewhat universal with jdm.

As far as i know thats the pull the battery for 30seconds then reattach and start the car and let it idle for 10-20mins.

Our cars have a idle auto adjustment feature in the rom.

Basically what the car does is start with the ISCV settings in the rom. It will then compare the idle speed to the desired idle speed set in the rom. If the setting is off it will wait a set number of ms before adjusting the idle stepper by 1. It will continue to adjust the idle stepper until it reaches a maximum of 4 which is the default in the table. It increments or decrements the idle stepping based on the idle being higher or lower than desired.

Tables involved:

Idle ISCV vs coolant temp (both ac on and off)
Desired Idle (ac on and off)
Idle settings table (don't know if its defined for you guys)

While I haven't personally seen a car get an error code on the ISCV its probable that the error occurs because desired idle is higher or lower than the ISCV combined with the range of adjustment can provide.

Solution would be to adjust the BISS screw to compensate for your settings such that the car would be back in range for controlling the idle.
