If you have a 4g94, why not just use the tephra ROM for the Evo 8, I'm currently on speed density and I think I used 94170015, if you really want to know I could look when I get home. Most people do start tuning with the MAF and get all the scalings dialed in before goin speed density. English racing helped me tune it over email, and he had me start out without the MAF he already had a tune for the same setup and didn't have to change much

Im not 100% sure but since I have an 06 I don't think that an 8 rom would work cuz the ecu's are different and the size in kb for the rom is a lot larger on the 06 like 512kb or somewhere around there if im not mistaken. Im not for certain but that is just what I would assume at least but I will def be planning on doing that then as far as tuning the maf and then switching to speed density. Besides the initial setup of speed density, you like it over the maf right?

Yeah you're right. I didnt know they changed them. Only thought the 4g69 was different but yeah it has a different flashing method. I love the speed density setup. Running a VTA BOV and it sounds amazing without making and rich spikes when shifting or leaving off. Also seems like the entire car is more responsive when pulling out an getting into boost. The only issues I have is on warm up. But it's not that bad now that I got it dialed in pretty good. I also used to have issues where the rpms wanted to drop on down shifts, but I got the bugs worked out of that too

Nice. That's exactly what I wanna try and work towards, but I think I still have a long ways to go haha. From everything that I've read it pretty much sounds like swapping to speed density is just hours and hours of logging and tuning and logging and tuning. But everybody has exactly the same positive comments about how it runs after they finally get it dialed in.

English racing pretty much did it for me. Only charged me $300. They were great to deal with as well. Took 5 logs and made adjustments. I made a few tweaks here and there but they did all the hard work. All you need is a omni 4 bar map sensor and you're on your way.

I will have to keep that in mind. Before you had them do the tune with speed density did u already have the evo rom flashed or did they do it all at once?

I originally had the Roadracemotorsports turbo setup. So I went to 440s and eliminated the 5th injector. I didn't want to buy an Evo MAF because I planned on a speed density setup. So I bought the map sensor instead. But they basically flashed a rom on it from a similar setup at their shop.

If you have spent tons of time tuning your rom I don't want to just get a copy and give nothing in return, but since you have already been through that process if you have any advice in getting started with the tephra 9 rom for an 06 that would be appreciated.
