I highly doubt the Lancer has a fuel cut and therefore, its top speed is only limited by aero drag. Are you trying to hint at a rev limiter removal? If that's the case: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...&threadid=6636

actually, i am trying to install a switch that i can flip when i park my car so that if someone breaks in and they don't flip the switch the car won't start...so it might even be called an ignition cut-off switch. i know where i want to install the switch but just need to know how and what materials i need.

Yeah...like pro drivers have in case of emergency. I know what you mean, but unfortunately I don't have an answer for you. Free bump at least. Hopefully someone can help you out.

Your best bet may be finding and calling a local shop who races and asking them some questions.

It's not hard at all. My friend did that to his RX7. Just find the power wires for the fuel pump and put in a switch (single pole single throw maybe?). I know in his RX7 he had the switch hidden in the back of the car lol. Have to ask about wheather you put the switch in the positive or negative side of the loop as I'm no engineer If no one here knows I'll find out when my friend gets back from his honeymoon.

This may not be the correct way to do things, and if not let me know, but it does work

if you can locate your factory fuel pump wiring you put a toggle switch in the supply wire, get a wiring diagram and it will tell you the wire color

A better way would be to use a relay in the power line, and then use the switch to activate the relay. This way the pump power (high current) does not actually go through the switch (especially if you run it up to the front). At the same time you could also rewire the fuel pump if needed.

OLD: PUMP PWR 12V------------------------------PUMP

GROUND------------------------------v

NEW: PUMP PWR 12V--------RELAY--------------PUMP

12V--------------------SWITCH------^

one option is a basic security system that has ignition cut off. from that you can add your own switch. i have heard a lot of car people around here doing this, lemmi guess your putting the switch in the tire well on the front driver side tire.

another option you have is actually wiring the horn into the ignition and adding a switch on the outside of the car. when the car is started and the switch is turned on the horn will sound constantly, but if the switch is off then it won't. i have seen it done and its a pretty good and cheap idea in my opnion if your that worried your car will be stolen.
