yeah tell me about it. i definately know what your talking about. i think everyone with forced induction runs into some kind of problem. live and learn.
In the process of takin' some pictures of the damage as far as I can see it. I dont think anything happened to the Turbo, I hope not because it is most certainly going back in the car. You want to know what Im really pissed off about tho, Someone stole my radio. Was a 400$ radio, and they did it only a little while after the engine in the car blew up... Cmon, Stuff cant get worse than this right? heh. Im trying to take everything lightly, But this is annoying! I did however post a sign on the car saying "Next time try stealing the whole car, See how far you get!" Its good to have a sense of humor insituations like these. With my luck, overnight some kid will dropa new engine in the car and steal it just to f with me...ugh

BTW, if you can let me recommend building the spare motor before installing because it will facilitate access to the block, as well as save you the trouble of tearing down your motor twice. Good luck, mang. I feel your pain.
Couple things...
Even though our car has a rev limiter you can still blow the engine by over-reving it. If you are running at high RPMs and drop into 2nd instead of 4th the limiter will not kick in in time to save your engine. That said, it doesn't sound like that was the problem here. I can't wait to hear what happened, though!
Talk to your insurance company about covering some of the repairs to the car (if you have full coverage). Though they won't cover the faulty part they will cover repairs to damage caused by a faulty part. For example, if your battery explodes they won't cover the battery but will cover any damage caused by it. Should be the same thing here. And, if your engine is damaged but the damage was caused by something outside of the engine core you can likely have it repaired under your coverage. If nothing else, get the fire damage taken care of.
