Hey bro, PM me, I know some people in Orlando that could be able to swap your motor back in (just depends on if they are busy or not), and also a couple of shops that can help you out as well.

Stock from the company is what I had said earlier in the post. I never modded anything to run any higher amount of boost then what was set from road race directly. But the car was driven pretty hard to be honest, by anyone's standards the car was driven quite hard. The only thing I noticed in days prior the kaboom was a slight throttle studder coming out of first and second gear. And a buddy of mine also told me after he looked at my car the other day that it looked as if I probably had a pretty sufficient oil leak prior to the kaboom. If so, it went completely undetected by me. Which can kind of make sense because my car is parked on grass in my backyard (I hide my car from thiefs). So i wouldnt have noticed an oil leak if there was one. And the Check Oil light never came on either, go figure.

What I'm trying to get at here. Guys don't think the explosion was any fault of Road Race's product. They put out a great kit and I love the thing to death, it made my car fun to drive in. The fault of the engine blowing up is more than likely the effect of harsh driving and what looks to be an oil leak. If I had any doubt in the product it would not be going back in my car once the new engine gets dropped in. And to tell you the god honest truth if any component of the kit was affected by the explosion, I'll buy a new one just so I can still have it. **** I'm probably gonna put forged pistons in just so I can upgrade my car even further later on down the line. Not to mention the CS of Road Race is exceptional, great people.

Having my car towed to the shop tommorow to see the full extent of the damage and I'll ask to see if they can figure out the source of the problem as well. I'll keep yall updated.

thats what i like to hear, good luck to you and keep us posted, it sounds like lack of oil could be the problem , and yeah, that would be real real real bad. by the way, what oil were you using?

Simple oil leak, leads to no oil and leads to Kaboom. Sorry to hear about it though.

Dude that totally sucks about your car. Hope your motor isn't to bad off and your turbo is still in working order. That would suck to have to buy a new one.

eBay will be your friend I bought and engine from a dealer called 250 auto parts (or something like that, cant' check because I'm at work and we have that websense bullsh!t) anyway, it was an even $100 and my buddy got me a deal on shipping. Then we saw one for $70 shipped from the same company. This same friend bought his motor from them, and some other parts, so they're a good place to do business with. They engines are true mileage unknown (TMU) engines, but that doesn't mean you can't use all the parts (except the block, I think). In fact, we're pretty sure my spare has less than 5K miles on it, or the previous owner had all the work done at the dealer- plugs looked new and the oil filter is a Mitsu special
Also, you can get the lancer service manual for like $23 shipped off of eBay, too. That's a handy CD to have around.

I've had two oil leaks where the oil return came off and basically dumped oil everywhere. Turbo's been dry twice, always ran fine. Just test it, don't assume it's dead. If it reacts funny at all, rebuild or buy a new one.

It won't. I put a new fitting in my oil pan, jb welded it, and replaced the rubber fuel line (which frequently kinked) to braided SS with plenty of spare hose in my garage. I think that problem will be a thing of the past.

Wish I could afford that now. I think I'm gonna pick up a complete spare down the road if I ever have money again.
