Blew my engine - RRM IC Turbo

kk, I blew my engine up majorly... I'm not pointing fingers at anything as for the cause, But it's the risk you take with Lancers....My question is this tho, Ive called some auto repair shops and I've been quoted almost no lower than 2,400 for the new engine to be ordered and put in... Does this make any sense to anyone? Does anyone have any insight on what it should cost just to drop a different engine in...Im looking for an engine with roughly the same mileage my last had, around 13,000. 2003 Mitsu Lancer OZ Rally w/ RRM IC Turbo and Magnaflow Exshaust is what i was runnin... Any help would be appreciated

I feel like I have been stripped of my manhood, ugh.

Sorry to hear that.

What went wrong?

Yes, new engines are expensive. Heck it cost me $1200 for an old used junk engine to be put in my last car. The price sounds about right.

Wanna sell the turbo kit, since you won't be using it?

No overboosting, Turbo was stock from RRM entire time it was driven... It happened like this... Sir Lancealot pulls up to a Mazda 6 at a redlight... Mazda 6 revs the el' Injin... I think to myself "Oh boy he doesnt know I have teh Forced Induction". Light turns green, I blow him away. 3 car lengths ahead in 2nd gear going like 50, Drop it to 3rd. el' Kaboom.... I blew my engine racing a Mazda 6....A....Mazda...6. I would have been cool if it was like a Corvette or a Porsche I was racing, But a 6? I feel dehumanized

Oh and the Turbo kit shalt be used again my good friend. Im coming back with a vengeance. Going for forged pistons the moment the new engine arrives... I am going to find the Mazda 6 and run it straight into the ground.

So you let the engine go too far into 2nd gear (too high of RPMS)?

WoW!.. sorry to hear that man.. what happened? if i were you.. just look for a junked out Lancer and get its engine for like 500 dollars from a junkyard.. have the pistons and rods replaced with the forged ones.. that'll be like 1500.. and have a shop put it in and do the labor for maybe another 1000.. it may cost more but it'll be extremely safer with that turbo yer running.. Just an opinion..

But anywayz.. good luck on getting your ride back together.. keep us informed.

3rd, But I never really made it to 3rd....Engine blew as I was switching gears... THe aftermath was quite hilarious....I looked for the closest place to pull my car into for that particular engine's eternal resting spot....I looked all around, wasnt really thinking too much as my car was at that point on fire, and basically I was driving a flaming inferno....But the closest place was a gas station unfortunately, So i pulled into it... And everyone at the pumps comes running at me screaming "STOP!". I pulled the ebrake, got out, choked a bit from the smoke, Made sure my car was far away from the pumps, And then I ran into the gas station, grabbed 2 jugs of water, Told the cashier Id pay her ina sec, Ran outside, Poured water all over my car...And these people came up to me and were like "you ****ing idiot, what were you thinking" I simply said "4,000 dollars of mine is burning right now, thats what im thinking" heh.
