Listen guy's you don't need all that hard core products to get into the 15's.
Below is the list of products that one of our customer iwth a 1.8 engine is using to currently run 15.7 down the quarter mile out of a 1.8 lancer.

RPW Race headers (Slightly shorter than the 2.0 engine design)
RPW 55mm oversize throttle body with RPW ported stock 1.8 manifold
2 1/2" exhaust with muffler and resoator
Greddy E-manage piggy back tuned by RPW
RPW FSE Fuel pressure regulator kit
RPW Stage 1 Camshafts
RPW Vernier camshaft gears
RPW Quick Shifter and suspension gear
RPW Cold air kit with K&N Filtercharger air cleaner (The same as the KN57-1500 kits)

This vehicle is doing 15.7 down the quarter mile time.

Now the 2.0 in stock form has more torque. With the same mods and an intake manifold upgrade, larger throttle body there is no reason why they shoudl not eclipse this time.

The number one limiation on this engine as i have said before is alwaqys the intake manifold. Once you replace this with either a RPW improved design or even teh stock 1.8 model unit, your cars woudl go 100% better straight away.

You don't need qauds or even twins just a way better designed intake manifold.

Great stuff.

But don't forget the Mirage weighs nearly 3-500 pounds less than our cars. Atleast my 1.5L mirage weighed in at only 2200 pounds while the OZ weighs 2701

mitsiman... do you really need your fpr kit with the emanage to tune?

and Sir lancealot i dont think you are gonna need to do an aggressive clutch like the stg 2... the stg 1 will suffice if you stay n/a

Speaking of clutches don't forget both RPW and WORKS sell clutches for our cars.
I know WORKS has a flywheel too that I believe is a little cheaper but made from same materials.

Why go with stage 2 rpw camshaft and the piggyback from RRM???
It could work but you might be lean a little bit, then you would have to get it retuned = PITA. If you live in CA rrm rocks but for me in chicago I would rather go with someone else, don't ask why (u can send me a pm).

I think that someone already tried this and it did not work well but they have not come back on here to tell us what they have or haven't done to rectify the situation. *cough* Kansaslancer

Spec, ACT and Clutchmasters also have clutches for our cars...

My Clutchmasters Stage 1 has held up under several 20 psi runs and one 28 psi run without slipping thus far. We will see what the track has to behold.

Mitsiman, any weight reduction done on that Lancer??

And yeah Wadad, those weights are accurate. Aspirated, I weighed in at 2340 lbs with a 50 lb sub box in the back, no driver. So I guesstimated about 2300 lbs w/o driver aspirated, but this is with an LS coupe (aka power everything). Now boosted, I tipped the scales at 2560 w/ the same sub box in the back. I do have a body kit on but Idont think it is any heavier than stock. Time to put old girl on a diet.

Don't get me wrong, and i'm not trying to start ANYTHING here, but, i think that making over an additional 100%+ WHP on a car that I put together in my own garage pretty rewarding.

Just giving you something to think about.

waste of money time and you will never get close to 200whp theres no way na. by the end of the day you will be broke and have a slow car. the lancer sucks to make fast even me putting in a turbo was a high 14 to low 15 second car. why would you fell good bragging about spending 2000+ to have the fastest na lancer that may be mid 15s at best

I think its more of the idea of doing it, just as I'm sure the first few honda modders looked backed and went "damn was spending all this money really worth it?" but they started something. If everyone backed out simply cause its "difficult", we'd still be walking around. Don't forget "fast" is subjective, I find my lancer pretty nippy now, but I'm sure someone who's gone from an STi or an Evo or some other performance car would find it slow as hell.

Here we go again with this is it worth it topic but WELL SAID.

It's all subjective and that's why we do what we do.

its just stupid and pointless because at the end of the day it is still slow and can get beat by about every other car out there
