Quick question... Does the 2002 Lancer have a rev limiter and if so is there a way to get rid of or disable it?

 

I don't have one but I'm guesing that there is one. But the rev limiter is there for a reason, why would you wanna take it off? Oh well to find out if you have on just hold the gas down and if it starts to bounce you have one, if you don't have one well... don't hold the gas down too long or you could regret it

 

i'm sure it has one...put it there so stupid american drivers don't blow their engines to bits

 

yea there is a rev limiter it bouces at like 63 - 65 hundred

 

MWAHAHAH...bouncy needle. I've hit 110 without the limiter going...but then again, I was wary to push the car any further seeing as it was 130 in the morning and I just KNEW that somewhere, somehow, a cop was gonna tag me. 6200 eh? Hmm...

 

Refer to it as Redline or RPM limiter in order to not get people confused. It is limited at 6,000 rpms. I have got my car up to 115 and couldve gone a little more I think.

 

uh you i though you guys were talkin about the tacho meater with i guess you were i have had my c ar way way over 115 my car topos out higher then the needle can go in 4th gear alone it cruses at about 5900 rpms at 120 then when you go into 5th you have another 2000 rpms to work with }=)

280hp for 130? an eclipse can do 130

yea im pretty sure it goese past 130 like alot past the car has masive potential next time i bring my video camra ill make a short movie at over 130 and ill make sure to send it in btw anyone seent he new injen intake?

 

My Talon (Eclipse) does 140, easy. I hit 115 in fourth in the Lancer (intake/exhaust) and felt like it had a bunch more in it, but I didn't want to push it with such a new engine. That was my one "tester" for the time being.

 

U.S. Lancer can't do 130 It is limited just like all other cars produced in the U.S. My friends Maxima is limited at 120 mph it could go faster but, not with that chip inside it.
