the magnaflow is a really good option, i have header an a 2.5 inch piping and it is really deep. my exhaust is custom, it's not the magnaflow, but if i had to do it again i would get the magnaflow.

I have the Magnaflow 14840 muffler. It's part of the Race Series. Have you thought about going with a Race Series muffler, instead of a Street Series muffler? The Race Series has a "straight through" design.

I have the KamiKaze header and Downpipe as well, and it works well with my MagnaFlow CatBack and HiFlow Cat, I love it all. Although, my car is now louder than I anticipated... I think I need to get a second Resonator or a larger one, I just don't know. If anyone has any insight, hollar.

Louder is Better !!!

Recap.....OK so from what I read, Any header (RRM, Kamikaze, & RPW) you bascially purchase takes out the 1st CAT, and that is a NO, NO in the state of Schwarzenegger. So basically if I get one, I am hgoing to replace it with the stock come smog time?
Apparently it doesn't matter what combo (headers/cat converter/ exhaust) you have based on everyone's testimony, Except for the header story, I like what I hear, and it looks like I will be making my purchase on the Magnaflow cat converter/ and cat back exhaust. I would like to get the headers, but the trouble does not sound worth the time.

Louder is not better, I stand out too much, and its that "ricey" loudness. My header and DP only contribute to the noise level, so I'm definitely ordering a second 14" resonator to make it less noisey. Cops in my town aren't too friendly as is.

Yaa taking off a Cat is a no, no, but whatever. If you do get an aftermarket header and DP, just hold onto your stock one. Put the stock heat shield back over the aftermarket header, and all looks good. When smog time comes, I would think that you'll definitely need to put at least one stock Cat back on, especially if your only Cat would be a HighFlow Cat if you modified your header & DP.
