Please help with my exhaust.......

Im finaly looking to get an exhaust done to my n/a 2003 oz. Everyone seems to like the 14829 muffler by magnaflow so I think im gonna go with that and Iv noticed that everyone says going bigger then 2.5" piping is going result in a lost of HP. So i think im gonna go w/ 2.5". (factory is 2.25 right? does the .25 make that much of a difference?) Iv got a shop that will custom bend any pipeing I need so I just need to tell them what I need. In order to get the most out of my system w/o any check lights coming on, what do yall suggest?

-headers?
-highflow cat?
-Resonator?
-testpipe?

I want it to be a loud deep/low pitch but not unbearable.
(I DONT WANT THAT F***ING RICEY SOUND)

RRM headers with CEL eliminator. That's all you need.

I Have the Magna FLow 2.25 CAT back, I love the sound.

I dont have header yet but RRM's comes with a Cel eliminator.

As for the CAT i would go with Magna Flows High Flow no CEL Light.

If you're going 2.5 i'd stick with press bends otherwise thats a little too big. The general consensus for a nice balance of backpressure and free flow is 2.25 mandrel bent. Thats what the Greddy and Magnaflow catbacks are. And so far they hold up well, even for turbo guys, theres no real need to go to 2.5 unless you are going to start going stage 2 and higher with turbo. Otherwise you end up losing too much low end. Good luck though!

what about RRM's Magnaflow exhaust bolt on...do you lose HP and low end torque with that?

Hey guys, I have a Greddy Evo2 catback, and if I got a magna high flow cat, would that do anything to my car? Im ordering the RRM downpipe soon, is it necessary to get the high flow cat?

RRM's bolt on shouldn't affect torque.

If you already have a catback and downpipe, you might as well get the high flow cat too. But make sure you have the intake parts opened up a bit to balance it out.

I have installed only 'greddy muffler' but everything (exhaust) is stock..
so what is the best set up without sacrifing anything?
I know i need header w/ cel eliminator.(probably get it underside done)

custom piping(2.25) + RRM test pipe or magna cat back(remove stock rasonator) +
RRM rasonator(option)

is this setting ok?

If you live in CA, remember that you will have to swap the header back to stock every time you have to get it smogged.

^ Exactly. Actually, CARB legal literally means legal in all 50 states, and since not all 50 states will allow you to remove one of your cats, and all headers for the Lancer remove the first cat, none of the headers for the Lancer are CARB legal. So everybody with a header on their Lancer in CA are risking a fine. Sorry, I think it sucks too, especially after finding out that automobile exhaust contributes only .1 % of our air pollution.
