question: headers and piping

k this might be a stupid q:.....

i got the 02 OZ AT.....im planning to get a short ram intake... but the prob is im a broke *** and cant get exhaust piping etc.... the question is.. will the stock headers and piping be able to handle the short ram intake? ^^

oh yea... one more thing tho.... i bought this car used wit 3000 mi. on it made in 3 months by the original owner... the dudes at the dealership said he got some ecu from japan... i couldnt reach the guy to ask him myself.... the dealers said he spent roughly 3Gs on the car b4 he gave it up.... and that the car had roughly 165hp in it... well i can take out v6 accord sedans no prob... got quicker starts than a non v6 mazda 6 and SI's...that much i kno for sure... anyone know about this damn chip in my car? ^^

Alot of people have done search after search for chips and have come up with nothing, so I would call BS on the dealer. Plus, I have NEVER heard of a chip that gives you 50+hp.

About the intake you will be fine with simply the SRI.

I find it odd that he spent $3000 on it and there's nothing visible in there already like an intake or headers personally.

Regardless of that, you can certainly put on a new intake without upgrading your exhaust - it won't hurt. It won't help nearly as much as doing both. For the most part, it'll just make things a little louder and a tad torquier perhaps.

Yes the stock set up can handle it t answer your question. How is it your lancer is beating a mazda 6 it has a 0-60 in about 6.8 turning the 1/4 in 15.4......your lancer is not doing this sorry...specially seeing it is pretty much bone stock. In my opinion the guy was not racing....you 120hp it 220.......nuff said.

But most of the upgrades you should be able to see...you are not gonna get that much power out of that thing. There is not even an intake or exhaust on it...you have even said yourself...no headers/ downpipe ect. Someones pulling your leg man.

take it to a dyno and see what it really puts down....never listen to what someone tell you it has.
