This thread barely talks about the original poster.

LancerNOS - yes, if you only have a month, I'd say rebuilding a 4G94 is the best bet. Just get forged internals for your old motor and call it a day...

RRM sells some. Dunno if this is "cheap" or not.

Road Race STAGE 1-2100 lbs.Clutch Kit(US Lancer)

02-06

This is a performance clutch kit for the lancer. Developed it to accomodate extra horsepower and last longer than stock replacement. Clutch and Pressure Plate only.

WORKS sells a stage 1 as well. To be honest, a stage 1 clutch isn't all that different from stock. I have the WORKS unit and while it is better in terms of numbers, it doesn't feel that different from stock. If I was going to do it again I would buy a stage 2 kit.

If you're dropping in the stock motor, don't hook the nitrous back up, OK? Keep the old engine as a spare, build it with forged internals, then go back to the N2O.

I am gonna go on to even bigger things.....I'm gonna ride stock for a while but in a few years that old block is going to be a beauty....turbo w/ slight N20, forged internals, ported heads, etc...planning on sticking w/ the RRM guys.

Sounds like a solid plan. Good luck.

4G69 is a pain but It's possible. If you go with a different engine there is a lot of other things to consider. My UK lancer came with return fuel system so its closer to an 02-03 than an 04-06 in the engine bay, to combat that I had to get the Ralliarts fuel pump with built in regulator, and remove the return line, thats all.

Sorry so late to the game, fellas, but I really dont check these Lancer boards as often as before.

To clear up some mud, the reason I said why it seemed easier to drop the 4G64 thatn the 4G69 was because I knew for fact that it could be done in the 4G93 engine bay, and the 4G94 has a bigger space ..... About 4 years ago Iwas real close to a guy who did that swap. As for the 4G69, when I bought mine, me and bahamut visually inspected it to see the differences. For one, the throttle cable runs where the power steering unit is in the Mirages / Lancers. For two, the RA vs. Lancer (04+) it seems the RA's engine bay is longer than the regular Lancer, so there was the mount issue.

Anyways, I had proported that swap (I think) eons ago for the Lancer guys but if it isnt backed by RRM, usually people just blindly say it wont work. Hope we see more 4G64 Lancers soon.

You know i think this may be a first ever in any vehicle forum.

a guy makes a thread about something that is sure to attract all the worst comments.

the mod comes in and predicts mass destruction.

the thread continues and a solution is found through collaboration.

in all of this, nobody started a flame war or called the OP a n00b or flamed at all really. im so glad to be part of such a sophisticated community!

It's simply a matter of practicality. Trust me, being the ginuea pig isn't as easy as telling someone else to be it. I say this from experience. Computer chair tuning someone else's car incurs much less cost and frustration than working on your own car.

I'm sure there's nothing I could add to that comment that would make it more true.

If people want a G69, go buy a RA. In FL, near me, an OZ costs nearly as a RA. Then again, the stealership is overpricing them!

The excuse that it has an uglier front end than my reg lancer just doesn't cut. A simple solution = buy an aftermarket f-bumper. It sure not going to cost you a small down payment for a car.

An immobilzer also prevents people from going into the business of a chop shop swapping motors. No original key = no start in a new swapped car. Otherwise, it functions like a pass card through a security check point.

When the new K20 motor in the RSX came out long ago, SCC had to go to the dealership to disable the immbolizer on the motor to be swapped into the egg civic. Since the dealership wanted the PR business from SCC, they went ahead to do SCC's bidding.

IMO, the G64 is the way to go. Decent parts for a conservative powerplant from the factory. Killing the immobilzer is the key!

1) use the 3g eclipse GTS MAF (slightly bigger MAF like the G93/G93 to the G64 MAF)

2) find 300cc injectors (gives you room to power up to the mid 190's crank HP)

3) header + exhaust + intake

4) tune w/ AFC = nearly matching or slightly surpassing the power rating of a stock RA w/o the gimmicky valvetrain.

5) if using an ES paltform, you'll a leg up on weight comparing to OZ and stock RA.
