Unhappy Blown motor - Engine Swap?

Hey so how do i put it? Umm I destroyed my 4g94 with nitrous and hopefully I can save the block and put new rods and pistons in, but just in case I was curious if any of you knew if it is easy or possible to put the 04+ ralliart motor in a 03 with a 5 speed?

Do a search on engine swap, we don't drive hondas so it is neither cheap or simple. If you want to run nitrous again you need a new engine (obviously), upgraded rods (700$?) and upgraded pistons (700$?). So that's about 2000$ just to run some nitrous. Not worth it in my opinion, you'd be better off using the internals money saving for a turbo.

you could also look into a 4g64 swap.

.......then swap an evo8 head onto your new block

Textbook D.A. move. Who the hell would let you hook NOS up to a STOCK engine? Someone needs their *** kicked for being f|_|ckin stupid. Stuff like this pisses me off. Here is an idea, go buy a Honda.

Someone lock this tread.

i know a guy locally who pulled this off. car is running smooth and now he's looking to do the head swap.

even better, grab the 4g64 from a junk yard (400-500) get rods and pistons (750-800) and you'll have yourself a built 4g64 ready for the head swap.

Except thta you can't put a 4g64 into a 02+ lancer. To the original poster however, how much money and time do you have? If you have 1400 to put towards a new engine, you can put a 4G69 engine + tranny into your car. If you are stuck below 1000 you should probably just replace the 4G94 like I did. I paid 400 dollars for an engine with 8k miles on it, and an extra 200 for a lifetime warranty that covered parts and 40 an hour towards labor. There are some issues with the 4G69 into an 03 lancer though, the most complicated being the cv axles and the fly-by-wire throttle that the ralliart has. If I had a chance to look under the hood of a ralliart in person I might be able to figure that out, but any good shop should be able to do that just fine. Remember you have to get it with a harness and ECU as well though.

www.car-parts.com is how I found my 4G94 and I replaced it with the help of people from these boards in about 3 weeks at a shop with a hyhdraulic lift and all the tools... but I also rebuilt the engine with high compression forged pistons that I got for 350 overnighted. There are some people selling pistons here on these boards. If you're having someone else do it though, or if you know enough to do part of the work yourself, drop in a 4G69 and let a shop finish up the work. The engine and transmission will bolt right up, but the cv joints on the ralliart may not fit into our wheel bearings, I'm not sure. Shouldn't be too hard for any shop or person to figure out without a little time and work. Good luck man.

Welcome to the thread from Hell. You blew the motor with nitrous (everyone makes fun of you) and you want to try a swap (everyone knows it can't happen). I'm sure it'll spin out of control quickly and get closed.

In the meantime, just get forged internals and keep your 4G94. Do some porting while everything's apart.

DOnt know why you all say the 4G64 wont owrk.... shoot, the 4G69 would be more stress to install that the 4G64 based on the mounting points.
